afternoon about 1 .o'clock Mrs. Laura j Barbour and little son Vernon were given the scare of their lives. Vernon who was in the kitchen, saw a big snake poke his head out from behind the kitchen cabinet. He ran out of Ihe house to where Mrs. Barbour was feeding nigs and had her hurry to thei El a u u u p p 3 house just as his snakeship was trying to get free from the cabinet and land cn the floor. The snake showed fight but after a desperate fight it. was finally killed. It measured four feet and six inches In length, and. was of the house or- timber variety Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Stewart visited Mr. and Mrs. Henry Sells near Hagerstown Sunday. Mrs. Sells is R5 years old and is very feeble. . . .Kenneth Cain entertained the Economy Epworth League Saturday nisrht. A large number of members was present... .A few years ago several families met and organized the "White Cap Club" as a promoter of pleasure. Recently at the home of James Jackson a fish dinner was given for the members and to revive their old time social standing. The members are Mr. and Mrs. Frank Tierce, Mr. and Mrs. Tom Stewart, Mr. and Mrs. Joe Lamb, Mr. and Mrs. Gus Weyl. Mr. and Mrs. Oran Sehellenbarger and Mr. and Mrs. James Jackson.
