Richmond High school will have one cf its strongest games next Friday night when the fast Anderson High t-thol basketball team meets Coach
Mullins' men on the Coliseum floor. The Richmond squad has been given three hard workouts this week, and Coach Mullins pulled out many of the objectionable points in the Quakers' l'laying at these practices. The line-up as announced by the coach for the Anderson game may be changed somem hat, before the game, giving the heavier men the forward positions, if the Anderson team presents too much weight. . ' Anderson will come against the Quakers with a confidence that will be hard to shake as a result of their overwhelming victory of Alexandria lust Tuesday. In this game Coach Staggs' men defeated Alexandria, 104 to 12, and for about half of the game uced their substitutes. The Second teams of Anderson and Richmond High schools will play a curtain raiser to the varsity game, the first game beginning at 7:30 o'clock

"All of the big league clubs carried too many pitchers through the past season," says James Dunn, Cleveland Indian owner. "Six pitchers are plenty for any big league team. As a rule any ball club gets the best results when the manager has four good pitchers who can "work in rotation and two good pitchers can be held in reserve." Dunn says a sensible thing in such tight time3 as these would be a player limit of twenty men, to comprise six pitchers, three catchers, six infielders and five outfielders. Dunn also favors the 140-game schedule for next season. It is likely that there will be a twenty-two player limit in effect next year.

a record for shut-out games pitched that has not been approached In some seasons. There were 248 games pitched in which at least one of the teams failed to score and there were three of these in which neither contestant scored. So yba will see if you have a head for figures that there
was a sum total of 251 times that teams failed to score last summer. In the season of 1916 there were "only 237 shutouts and in 1915" there were 234. The White Sox pitchers had twenty-two shutouts to their credit, the Washington Senators had twenty-one while the Phillies led the National league with twenty-one. The Athletics and the Brooklyn Dodgers came along f t the tail end of the procession with seven shut-duts apiece. John T. Richards, Wisconsin coach, is still a favorite .with, the Ohio State football fans though he has not been at State for some season. But it was Richards that first put O. S.
