Superintendent Derbyshire Praises Employes For Loyalty Other Notes. BY CHARLES DAVIDQE HEMMING BOSTON, lad. Oct. 2 5 Superintendent Derbyshire and Trainmaster Lynch made a general Inspection of 1 the Boston yards Wednesday'. They have takes on the work of rounding up supplies. The Increase In through freight has made It imperative that the dispatchers recently appointed here can have the clear of the right of "way. and more freight as rapidly as possible. The freight east has been unprecedented In the history of the C & O. Coal shipments have hitherto had the right of way hat the increase made possible by army material and equipments have necessitated the placing on of extra crews. While passenger service has been j maintained, the great October rush in grain shipments has had to be maintatned. The Mallet engine service is 1 replacing the ordinary freight engines, ; and more motive power has been i rounded up on the Indiana lines. Considerable work has been going i on in the various divisions of the C. t & O., and locally the work at Beatrice ihas been exceptional for the reason that the heavy type of rails has been I placed at the west end of the station jat that place. The grading and bali lasting has been commensurate with the heavy character of the new motive ; power of the Mallet engines, and this work is to be continued to the Richmond terminal. Superintendent Derbyshire said ! Wednesday the subscriptions received I from the employes of the Indiana lines 'bad totalled $13,000 Monday, but the tblg drive Inaugurated by the division Today's Beauty Talk Yon can enjoy a delightful shampoo :with very little effort and for a very (trifling cost, if you get from your drugIgist a package of canthrox and dissolve a. teaspoonful in a cup of hot I water. This makes a fall cup of j shampoo liquid, enough so it is easy I to apply it to all the hair instead of Just the top of the head. Your sham- ! poo is now ready. Just pour a little ! at a time on the scalp and hair until both are entirely covered by the daintily perfumed preparation that thoroughly dissolves and removes every bit of dandruff, excess oil and dirt. (After rinsing, the hair dries, quickly, ' with a fluffiness that makes it seem ', heavier than it is, and takes on a rich i luster and a softness that makes arranging it a pleasure. Adv. Life In Germany couldn't beat this, and as for life in the trenches. Bah! are the sentiments of the Teutons interned at one' of the pleasantest spots in the United States, Hot Springs, N. C. For them detention is Just one happy day after another, with plenty to eat, drink and no eight-hour days. The hardest labor is the devising of new landscape effects, miniature chalets and Black Forest cottages. Home was never like this. They have swimming pods, tennis courts, their own band and scores of other amusements, so, that their kul tared minds and bodies will not lack for exercise and amusement. The men interned here were sent from many parts of the country, a great number of them being Teutons from interned ships, officers and men. Indications are that their Winter at Hot Springs will be pleasant and much more preferable than a season in the dugou ts on the other side of No Man's Land, facing Allied cannon and bomb.
