STUDENTS GET
SPECIAL WORK IN SEED PICKING
Charles W. Jordan and Ivan T. Beck Busy in Fountain City. FOUNTAIN CITY, Ind., Oct. 23 In addition to the work done here among the farmers by E. C. Martindale, the government expert on corn seed selection, Charles Jordan, of Richmond, and Township Agent Beck have been busy wirh the agricultural class of the high school. Practical demonstrations were mado on neighboring farms, the students examining the rows, and selecting seed corn that scored well in the rows. Seed sprouting is taught in the high school and further interesting experiments will be made by the students themselves.
C. N. Hatfield, who instituted the Fountain City Novelty works here, made 500 machines in 90 days of the giain cleaner and seed separator type, with the aid of a few assistants. The demand for this invention has placed the firm 'CO days behind their orders which will keep the hands busy until Christmas. Farmers are loyal to this
home industry and the orders this sea
son have exceeded the output of previous years over 50 percent.
The Fountain bank, a private institution, with 20 home people holding
five shares apiece, had not been called
upon Monday to make any special effort on behalf of the second Liberty loan, as the subscriptions on that day totaled 515,000, with $5,000 more to come. The Boy Scouts started Monday to boost for the bonds, and the officers of the bank say the little fellows will win out. The coal situation was relieved by the receipt of three cars Monday, one to tho Hull company and two to the elevator men. Jacob Crull is cutting wood on logs dried out on his farm. William Cooper is looking for help to get out cord wod, and has installed a gasoline engine and saw on his wood lots.

MURRETTE The case of an actress sacrificing herself for her art is no better exemplified than Id the performance of Fannie Ward, the clever Lasky-Para-mount star who will be seen at the Murrette today in the production "The Crystal Gazer." During the filming of the terrific fight scene In this photodrama. Miss Ward's shoulder was accidentally dislocated, but with the exception of a sharp scream of pain which is plainly shown on the screen. Miss Ward gave no Indication of the injury until the scene was completed when she collapsed in the arms of her maid. All work on the picture was suspended for three weeks until Miss Ward had fully recovered. '

Major Lacey, in a reminiscence, Monday at a barber shop, told of the days of '34 when blue rats were common, and were accounted fierce rodents. Tie saw the first Norwegian rat cross the creek swimming by a piece of plank, with dozens of others following. It was then good-bye to the blue rat who soon disappeared in the tribal encounters of the rodents later, the Norwegians killing off the blue species.

Doubtless if you are a sufferer from indigestion, you have already tried pepsin, bismuth, soda, charcoal, drugs and various digestive aids and you know these things will not cure your trouble In some cases do not even give relief. But before giving up hope and deciding you erc a chronic dyspeptic just try the effect of a little Disunited magnesia not the ordinary commercial carbonate,, citrate, oxide or milk, but the pure bisurated magnesia which you can obtain from practically any druggist In either powdered or tablet form. H Take a teaspoonful of the powder or two compressed tablets with a little water after your next meal, and see what a difference this makes. It will instantly neutralize the dangerous, harmful acid in the stomach which now causes your food to ferment and sour, making gas, wind, flatulence, heartburn and the bloated or heavy lumpy feeling that seems to follow most everything you eat.. You will find that provided you take a little bisurated magnesia immediately after a meal, you can eat almost anything and enjoy it withou any dan-
ger of pain or discomfort to follow
pnd moreover, the continued use of the bisurated magnesia cannot injure the stomach In any way so long as there are any symptoms of acid indigestion.
