LIBERTY DAY IS SET ASIDE BY PRESIDENT
Wednesday, October 24, Proclaimed Half Holiday For Federal Employes. WASHINGTON, Oct 15. The president has proclaimed Wednesday, October 24. as "Liberty Tay." On that day ho -will expect all communities to unite in a great demonstration for the second liberty loan. All Federal em
ployes are given a half holiday by the president's proclamation. It Is as follows: By the President of the United States of America. A Proclamation. "The Second Liberty loan gives the people of the United States another opportunity to lend their funds to their government to sustain their country at war. The might of the United States Is being mobilized and organized to strike a mortal blow at autocracy in defense of outraged American rights and of the cause of liberty. "Billions of dollars are required to arm and feed and clothe the brave men who are going forth to fight our country's battles and to assist tke nations with whom we are making common cause against a common foe. To subscribe to the liberty bond is to perform a service of patriotism. "Now, therefore, I, Woodrow Wilson, President of the United States of America, do appoint Wednesday, the twenty-fourth of October, as Liberty Day, and urge and advise the people to assemble in their respective communities and pladgeto one and another and the government that represnts them the fullest measure of financial support. "On the afternoon of that day I request that patriotic meetings be held in every city, town and hamlet throughout the land, under the general direction of the Secretary of the Treasury and the Immediate direction of the Liberty Loan Committees which have been organized by the Federal Reserve Banks. "The people responded nobly to the call of the first liberty loan with an oversubscription of more than 50 per cent. Let the response to the second loan be even greater than ever, and let the amount be bo large that It will serve as an assurance of unequaled

SOME GOOD ADVICE - Strengthened by Richmond Expert-
Kidrey disease is too dangerous to reflect. At the first sign of backache, headache, dizziness or urinary disorders, you should give the weakened liidneys prompt attention. Eat little meat, take things easier and use a reliable kidney tonic. There's no other kidney medicine so well recommended as Doan's Kidney Pills. Richmond people rely on them. Here's one of the many statements from Richmond people. . William Cooper, 414 S. 11th St., Richmond, says: "My back was weak and lame and ached a great deal. Whenever It became too bad, I used Doan's Kidney Pills and they never failed to relieve me in a short time. I believe they will cure anyone if used right and I advise anyone to get a box at Thistlethwaite's Drug Store if troubled in this way." Price 60c, at all dealers. Don't simply ask for a kidney remedy get Doan's Kidney Pills the same that Mr. Cooper had. Foster-Milburn Co., Props., Buffalo, N. Y. Adv.

On The Screen
MURRETE The greater part of "The Sunset Trail," Vivian Martin's latest Paramount photoplay which is appearing tonight at the Murrette theatre, was filmed In the California mountains, and many adventures not shown on the screen befell this little star while camping there. One night the cabin in whloh she was living caught fire and the next day the limb of a huge tree broke off, plunging her into the icy, cold mountain water.

Let the result be so impressive and emphatic that It will echo throughout the empire of our enemy as an index of what America intends to do to bring this war to a victorious conclusion. "For the purpose of participating in Liberty Day celebrations, all employes of the Federal government throughout the country whose services can be spared may be excused at 12 o'clock Wednesday, October 24. LIBERTY WANTS TO SEE FLYERS
Liberty wants the airplane route from the Dayton aviation fields to the fields at Rontoul, 111., changed. The townspeople of Liberty want to see the flyers as they travel swiftly over the city. Were the route changed the airplanes would not pass over Richmond. It's not considered probable that It will be changed. A huge search light of six separate colored lights, to light the way for aviators flying over Richmond, has been received and work on the erection of the light on the top of city hall was begun Monday. The light is being erected under the direction of Superintendent Kleinknecht of the city light plant. The light will be completely installed in several days and will be lighted every night from 7 o'clock until the next morning. There are six colored lights, each a signal to the bird-men.

"The Infallible first nig-n of ape Is the rafrlnj? oheek muscles," aaya-Mme. Cavalieri, whose fame as a beauty culturist fcs scarcely less than that of a songstress. "These are more difficult and serious to treat than wrinkles," she continues. "The Bagging muscles indicate they have grown too weak to remain in place ; they must be assisted, strengthened." The best way to strengthen them is by bathing the face in a lotion made by dissolving an ounce of powdered saxolite in a half pint witch hazel. This creates a freer circulation to the parts, besides causing muscles and skin to contract. Saxolite, procurable at every drug store, has long been known by complexion specialists to possess remarkable tonio and astringent properties, valuable in treating Cabby tissue aud wrinkle.
