On The Boards

WASHINGTON "Pollyanna," the glad-hearted comedy of optimism and good cheer, after a highly successful week in the English at Indianapolis, will be seen at the Washington theatre this evening. The inquiries that have reached the theatre during the last few weeks are significant of a widespread and unusual interest in this production. "Pollyanna, the Glad Girl," who, in the Eleanor H. Porter stories, has made hundreds of thousands of people grateful for the acquaintance, is now coming in a new guise provided by that expert writer of popular comedies, Catherine Chisholm Cushing. The glad books have had enormous vogue, not only in this country but also in foreign lands. They have inspired the formation of Glad Clubs all over America and even in small communities In England, Scotland and Australia?
