THOSE WHO GET INTO RACE LATE MAY BEWINNERS Still Chance for Everyone in P a 1 1 a d i u m's Automobile Contest. .

It Is by no means certain that the persons who will win the grand prizes in The Palladium's contest have been named as candidates yet. for nominations are being received daily and the candidates are standing so nearly even that there is no advantage held by those already named. Yet theer is plenty of evidence that some of the candidates are going very

deliberately into the work of organ-; izing and that the next week will develop big showings in votes. Of course, each candidate has his or her own idea of how to win an automobile or a phonograph and this office is flooded with letters of Inquiry as to procedure. These letters are answered in every case, but it is obviously impossible for the contest manager to do anything else than advise as to the utility of plans he cannot devise plans for the contestants. Vital Interest Now. The important thing for the candidates, or those who contemplate entering the contest, to remember is that subscriptions secured before October 6 will count for very many more votes than those that reach this office after that date. This offer of bonus votes will be withdrawn promptly on the aate mentioned and it is not. unlikely that the winners will win because they have taken advantage of this offer. Send in the Subscriptions Promptly. And even after the close of the Booster, the votes announced in the columns of The Palladium are not likely to be any guide to the actual strength of the candidates, for certifi

cates for votes issued during this

period need not be voted until later in the campaign. But, in order to obtain

the advantage that lies in holding these certificates, the subscriptions must be sent to this office now it will not do a candidate any good to have the subscriptions without turning them

in for certificates. All Sections Represented.

Every section of the Palladium's field is represented now in the list of contestants and every walk in life has its representative. Candidates who

have entered in the contest come from

both city and country districts and it is violating no confidence to say that the country Is quite as strong as the city competitors. The element of pride is being aroused and some of the country candidates have very obviously some strong and earnest and intelligent workers among their supporters. Among the contestants, working girls and men and women will dispute with farmers and mechants and bankers for honors, and they will carry no handicap, for they will give more time to the work than their more affluent neighbors. The great cash value of the prizes make them worth the best efforts of people who could afford to buy automobiles, but striving in a good cause is prompting all of the candidates and great results are certain in this campaign to put The Palladium into every home in this part of the state. The Prizes. The prizes are both valuable and useful. Three big automobiles head the prize list. An eight cylinder

Chevrolet touring car valued at $1410.00 heads the prize list. This is the car that caused such a furore of excitement in the auto world when the first models were put on the market. The second prize is a four cylinder, Chevrolet, five passenger, valued at J655.00. The third car is the popular Saxon "Four" valued at $410.00. All prize cars were purchased of The Bethard Auto Agency of this city. Mr. Hethard has sold hundreds of these well known makes which have given the best of satisfaction. The second prize in each of the three districts are $100 Starr phonographs. The Starrs are too well known to need any introduction to people of this vicinity. Xext in line comes three beautiful diamond rings and then three dandy gold .watches, making one of the finest list of prizes ever given away by any newspaper In this vicinity. In addition to the list of prizes, special prizes will be given and a cash commission of ten per cent on new subscriptions to candidates who work

THOUGHTS TO THINK ABOUT Success is born of imagination. Imagination begets enthusiasm, and enthusiasm is the power that brings achievements.

No man may safely judge another man, for no man can know the facts that have influenced another's acts. Judge self If you would, justly judge.
