Harry Gobel, southeast of the city, was threshing wheat from 50 acres Saturday. He predicts that the wheat will go a trifle over 30 bushels to the acre. R. H. Carman southeast of town, has concluded threshing wheat from 44 acres, which went 30 bushels to the acre, or 1.320 bushels, valued at $2 at the elevator, and worth $2,640. Miles Shute, southeast of town, had a fine yield of twenty acres of wheat. He has Just finished threshing, and gives the average as 40 bushels to the acre, or 800 bushels. Howard Watson, formerly of the southeastern section, has written his relatives in that part of the county that his crops of wheat, oats and flax have fell two-thirds short this year, on his farm at Big Sandy. Montana, owing to the drought. The friends here who harvested for him there last season will go to Montana this year.
