Editor Palladium: Kind Sir: Just passing through your city and haven't time to call at your office, I wish to call your attention to two speeches made by a colored boy of your city by the name of Walter Dennis at Carthage and Knlghtstown, last Sunday. r This young man spoke on several issues pertaining to the colored race and urged them to stand by this country in the time of war and that the riots and mob outrages were family affairs and must be handled and adjusted by the thinking people of the white and colored races. These two speeches were the best I have "heard on these subjects since I heard B. T. Washington a few years ago, and this man Dennis should be classed as one of the best talkers in the state if not In the country, and the people of your city should encourage such talent and some day your city will be proud to claim him as a product even though he is a colored boy.
