No exemption from the draft of members of the unit as a whole will be made. Each case must be judged on its own merits, says Provost Marshal General Crowder. Friends members of the unit, while not liable to call as soldiers, may be called for work behind the lines. Fourteen new members were announced today, bringing the total above eighty. Will Jenkins of Richmond is the only Indiana man, the others being mostly from the East. FOOD SAVING COURSES IN 750 SUMMER SCHOOLS WASHINGTON. July 5. Lectures on food conservation will be included in the curriculum of 750 summer schools throughout the country ' as part of the food administration's educational campaign, Herbert C. Hoover announced today. A quarter million students probably will take advantage of this course. As nine-tenths of the number are-school teachers the ideas promulgated will reach audiences especially equipped to disseminate these doctrines to the school children of the nation. The course will include lectures on use of local foodstuffs, elimination of waste, conservation of wheat, fats, sugar and meats and the preservation ot perishable food. A useful addition to the telephone consists of a small circular disc to which are attached a pair of ear tubes. By merely placing the receiver over the disc and the tubes in the ears, the operator is left free to jot down memoranda or use both hands for consulting records or Indices.

Russians Win Koniuchy

At Koniuchy (1) the Russians took the city and surroundings, with about 10,000 prisoners, the heaviest fighting occurring about Brzezany (2). Austro-Hungarians broke down an attack of the Russians north of Lemberg (3), the objective of the Russian advance.

On The Screen JUK MMWtl WkMHUttftttiMIM $ MURRETTE. t That motion pictures have an educational value is heartily endorsed by Elliott Dexter who plays the part of a young doctor in support of Blanche Sweet in the Lasky-Paramount adap tation ofF. Horkinnon Smith's story, "The Tides cf Barnegat," which will te seen at the Murrette today and Friday. As the young doctor, Mr. Dexter is suddenly called upon to resuscitate a drowning child, who, in this case, is no other than Little Billy Jacobs. The scene was taken on location and there was no opportunity to call in a physician to advise Dexter how it was done. Edwin Boreln, perhaps the bestknown of American cowboy artists, recently visited Douglas Fairbanks' studio to pay his respects. Borein expressed his admiration for the popular star and complimented him upon his western characterizations, saying that he is one of the very few actors who can properly protray the true westerner. Incidentally Borein gave Douglas several important tips in cowboyism which he has used to good advantage in his newest picture of the wesL "Wild and WToolly." released by Artcraft and appearing at the Murrette commencing Friday. WASHINGTON "Joan the Woman,"' a picture for old and young is one of the best pictures ever shown to human beings. Everyone no doubt, has read the story cf Joan of Arc and knows what a wonderful story this is. Nlto see this in pictures. A picture ttut has shown to more people than "the Birth of a Nation," or any other picture, is to be shown at the Washington today, Friday and Saturday. At Indianapolis $1.00 admission was charged for this picture and it is going back for a return engagement. If you fall to. See this wonderful production you will miss the, important and vital topic in history. Ask yourself, "Would the voice of Joan of Arc be heard and heeded today?" CENTERVILLE, IND. Common Garden Sage and Sulphur Darkens So Naturally Nobody Can Tell. Grandmother kept her hair beautifully darkened, glossy and attractive with a brew of Sage Tea and Sulphur. Whenever her hair took on that dull, faded or streaked appearance, this simple mixture was applied with wonderful effect. By asking at any drug store for "Wyeth's Sage and Sulphur Compound," you will get a large bottle of this old-time recipe, improved by the addition of other ingredients, all ready to use, for about 50 cents. This simple mixture can be depended upon, to restore natural color and beauty to the hair. A well-known downtown druggist says everybody uses Wyeth's Sage and Sulphur Compound now because it darkens so naturally and evenly that nobody" can tell It has been applied It's so easy to use, too. You simply dampen a comb or soft brush and draw It through your hair, taking one strand at a time. By morning the gray hair disappears; ' after another application or two, it is restored to its natural color and looks glossy, soft and beautiful. This preparation is a delightful toilet requisite. It 'is not intended for. the cure, mitigation or prevention of disease. Adv. HOW ABOUT ' YOUR OLD COAL BILL? Why not clean up the straggling ends of your last winter's debts?'
