unio. . . . The annual picnic of the Current Events club was held Thursday all day at the home of Mrs. Oscar Green on the Ablngton pike. After dinner the year books were distributed. The club will study "America" next year. Mrs. Roy Denning and Miss Virginia Stanley were special guests. Eleven club members were present and with the children twenty-five ate dinner. The members present were Mesdames Carrie Holafiay. Clara Williams, May Hinshaw, Emma Hobson, Mary Randall. Mae Munson, Faimie-Davis, Louise Harris and Oscar Green. After dinner there was a musical program presented by Mrs. Grace Gormon and Mrs. Dempsey- Dennis. Mrs. Eva Lamb, who is leaving soon for a residence in Indianapolis, was presented with a club pin. Mrs. Martha Barr. president, made the presentation upepch. Mrs. Lamb responded. Mrs. A. S Johnson was named secretary to fill the unexpired term of Mrs. Lamb. Special guests of the club were Mrs. Sarah Riffle of Tampa, Florida; Mis. Grace Gormon, Mrs. Charles Wettig. Mrs. Adolph Getz and Miss Mary Clapp. Those who enjoyed the picnic were Mrs. Martha Barr, Mrs. Charles Hanes, Mrs. Laura Ferguson, Mrs. Emma Eva, Mrs. Eunice Frame, Mrs. Martha Johnson, Mrs. Eva Lamb, Misses Emma and Victoria Lindemuth, Alice Price, Lucile Mayr. After a business session there was a social hour. Mrs. E. E. Reid and son, William, who have been visiting Mr. and Mrs. Henry Silvey in Connersville, have returned home. Miss Opal Batchelor and Howard Moyer of Marion, were married Thursriny at the Second Friends church by Rev. Mr. Foster. ' The bride wore a gown of Nile green and carried bride's roses. She is a niece of Mayor Batchelor and the bridegroom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Moyer of this city, where they will reside.
Green and white, the sorority colors were used in decorating the Pythian Temple last evening when a dancing party was given by the members of the Telta Theta Tau sorority. The Kolp orchertra played. Mr. Earl Hartzler, is in Reid Memorial hospital, having undergone an operation for a broken arm. Miss Bertha Kildus is spending the week-end with Miss Viola Winters at her home, north of the city. At the supper hour a delicious repast was served. There were several guests and included in the number were Mr. and Mrs. Charles Kratz. Fifteen members of the Senior Luther League enjoyed a party last evening at the Trinity Lutheran church. The evening was spent socially and with music and games. A supper was served. ; A "meeting of the Earlham Heights Dorcas society was . held Thursday afternoon at the home of Mrs. Aaron Wogaman. Miss Annette Edmunds made a talk on registration. The Woman's Franchise League will give a market Saturday morning beginning at 10 o'clock in tHe room on North Ninth street, adjacent the Palladium office. n In honor of Miss Delia Gibson, the bride-elect of Mr. Morton Snider, a miscellaneous shower was given last evening at the home of Miss Gibson's sister, Mrs. Edward Moore. Roses and ferns formed pretty decorations for the rooms. The bride-elect received many pretty gifts. Music, dancing and games featured the evening. A luncheon in two courses was served. The Missionary society of First Presbyterian church did not meet this afternoon: The session will be held July 6, when a meeting will be held in connection with the Hughes Chapter of the Westminister Guild at the home of Mrs. J. J. Rae. Miss Elizabeth Hershey and Miss Laura Fryar who are attending the sessions of a missionary convention at Winona Lake Will make reports. Thursday an all-day meeting of the aid society of the East Main Street Friends church was held at the church. Mrs. Kelly and Mrs. Stewart,, the two oldest - members of the , society were special guests. Twenty-two members were present. . , , - Mr. Josiab Marvel, left yesterday for Wilmington, Delaware, whence hexwill go to Lake George for the summer.
Miss Lucile Nusbaum, who has been studying music in Chicago, has come home to spend the summer with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Lee B. Nusbaum. A meeting of the Coterie club was held Thursday afternoon at the home of Mrs. Charles Shideier, National Road East. Eighteen members were present. Mrs. Davenport was a guest. A program of patriotic music was given. In a fortnight the club meets with Mrs. Martha Shute, Garwood road. Readings of a patriotic nature for the most part made up the program at the meeting of the Missionary society of Second Presbyterian church held at the home of Mrs. William Gartside Thursday afternoon. A paper was read by Mrs. E. E. Davis. The next meeting of the society will be held July 26.
Mr. and Mrs. Bert Kolp will give a dance this evening at the Cedar Springs Hotel. Mrs. Sterling Beardsley and daughter, Miss Betty, of New York are guests at the home of Mrs. Paul Comstock in Reeyeston.
