CROP PROSPECTS SHOW IMPROVEMENT

CHICAGO. June 20 Improvement in crop prospects gave a fresh downward impulse today to wheat prices. Rains in the spring wheat region were deemed of especial advantage to the bear side of the market. Opening quotations, which ranged from the same as yesterday's finish to three cents lower with Jury at 2.02 to 2.04 and Sept. at 1.79 to 1.81 were followed by a material setback all around. Breaking of the drought in North Texas and in Oklahoma.

Deaths and Funerals. HILLING Helen Marie, - five months , old daughter of Mr. and Mrs. William Hilling, died Wednesday morning at the home of her parents, 120 North Second street Funeral arrangements will he announced later. JERDON The funeral of Curtis Jerdon was held Wednesday afternoon at the home of his parents, 1423 North G street. The body was shipped to Birmingham, Ala., for burial.

Court Records

Marriage Licenses. Benjamin - H. Doddridge, farmer, Centerville, and Edith S. Bertsch, student, East German town. Arthur R. Bertsch, grocer, Centerville, and Mary L. Means, Centerville. Complaint was filed in circuit court today by the Fountain bank, of Fountain City, against Floyd S. and John Cook, to collect $481.40 on a promisory note. Harry Leister, confessed chicken thief, entered a plea of guilty in circuit court this morning to a charge of second degree burglary. Leister was arrested last week and five indictments were returned against him. He turned state's evidence and after pleading guilty to the one indictment

of burglary was released from the oth- -er Indictments. He is being held in the county jail until the trial of Harry Byrum, who was also arrested in connection with the chicken robberies in the western part of the county.
