All Right On Road. Twelve games have been scheduled for play in Richmond since the opening of the league season and it has ben necessary to postpone seven of them because of rain or wet grounds, On their first road trip the Quakers were scheduled to play twelve games and were able to play all of them. But the weather is bad enough without talking about it. So far as the team is concerned better, days are in store for it. When the Quakers show here Memorial Day the fans probably will have he opportunity of seeing an entirely new outfield in action. Three Texas league recruits, McCandless. Crouch and Critchlow have been signed by Myers and all will report in Evansville today. The collapse of two teams in the Texas league made it possible for Myers . to . secure these men, all of them hard hitters and good fielders. Club Looks Good. With the pitching staff strengthened by the addition of Couchman and the Injured Texter replaced by one of the best of minor league catchers. Hauser. Richmond will have a team which will measure up to the best In the Central league just as soon as the new butfield gets on the job. "Cupid" Donelson. the nineteen-year-old center fielder, will probably be disposed of with a string attached to him. This kid is a natural hitter but his fielding and base running is still a little crude for class B baseball. To get within the player limit it will be necessary to dispose of two other players, and pitching staff, now numbering six, probably will experience the cut. PIRATFS COP ONE FROM ALL-STARS Lee had a shade on Bowman in the Ring department and the Richmond Pirates put one over at the expense of the West Side All-Stars, 6 to 3, at West Side park Sunday p. m. HERE'S CHAPLIN AS "SEPTEMBER MORN" This picture is neither "Washington Crossing the Delaware," "Napoleon at St. Helena," nor "September Morn-" It's just Charlie Chaplin minus his exaggerated shoes and his superlatively baggy trousers. Charlie Chaplin appeared, for the first time in his long and varied stage and screen career, in a batJiing suit in "The Cure," his latest Mutual release, and he made such a hit that, as a part of the funny business, they made him do some posing. This pose was intended to represent "September Mbrn," and by stretching your imagination perhaps you can think it is, but Charlie shows entirely too little modesty over the display of his lithe and shapely legs and his attitude is altogether too defiant to pass for that sensational piece of art. He discarded, for the purposes of the pose, his familiar derby, with his No. 10 shoes and sack-like trousers, but he balked at relinquishing his cane. The straw lid,' like the bathing suit, is an innovation for Chaplin, but he managed to creat just as much fun with it as he does with his stiff cady. $1.00 Weekly WHY PAY CASH?
