FIRST METHODIST, BOARD , ELECTS SUPERINTENDENT

Prof. D. D. Ramsey, principal of the Whitewater grade school, was elected superintendent of the First Methodist Sunday school at a meeting of the board last night. Prof. Ramsey will fill out the unexpired term of Hassal T. Sullivan, who is leaving for residence in Indianapolis. ; ';)!,,: '. 7 " ' High; School Adopts h French War Orphan f :,l: '. . : Richmond high school unanimously voted to adopt a fatherless child of France for two years, following an address by. Miss Florence Scofield at the chapel exercises this morning. . Miss Scofield has lived in France, and Is well acquainted with the conditions. She gave a most vivid description of deplorable circumstances. i .. , "Every penny ihat you give goes straight to the children. None of this fund is used in collecting and sending the money," Miss Scofield explained to the pupils. In adopting a child for two years, the school will give $73. Ten cents, added to what the, French government gives, will keen a child one day.

"Buy A Saxon" is going to be the slagon to ever prospective buyer of an automobile in this territory for the next three months. The Auto Sales Agency is offering 110 per name that is for every, name handed in to them of a person who will buy a Saxon car they will pay $10. It Is their plan to sell 100 care within the next ten weeks in Wayne, Union, Randolph and Fayette counties. Al A. Kemper who is sales manager for the Saxon says, "We aire willing to spend $1,000 in advertising Saxons and it is our aim to make everybody in eastern Indiana a Saxon boosters. Dr. Jessup Installed; President of Iowa U.

Dr. Walter Albert Jessup, formerly of this city, , has been installed as president of Iowa University. Dr. Jessup was graduated from Earlham in 1903. He received his doctor's degree at Columbia university and then became dean of the School of Education at Indiana University. He was considered one of the most capable and efficient men in the faculty at Indiana. Agriculture has been added to the courses In the . curriculum at Notre Dame.
