$5 WHEAT FORECAST DENIED AS FACTOR III PRICE UPTURN
CHICAGO. May 11. Highest peaks in wheat prices were again overtopped today. The best explanation obtainable was that scattered buying on the part of houses with eastern connections proved of more than sufficient volume to counterbalance available offerings. It was generally denied that a prominent American government food advisers public references to the possibility of the market ascending to 95 a bushel was a factor in the new upturn of values. Opening quotations, which ranged from V&c off to 3c advance, with May at $3.18 and July at $2.47i to $2.49, were followed by a Bharp general advance carrying May to $3.19 and July to $2.52i. Sept. made a still greater jump, 53 to 814. and touched $2.15. Tightness of the market because so pronounced that one of the largest houses on 'Change gave notice that hereafter all trades in May wheat would be refused except to close out existing contracts.

Mothers Day is the sweetest of all our institutions. Its spirit is kindly, genuine, sincere. Its place in the calendar of our emotions is a place of precedence. But how few of us go beyond the spirit of the occasion. So many of us depend upon a kind of mental telepathy to inform mother of our love, respect, admiration. A little gift is really needed. A practical expression of reverence is so satisfying to mother..
