DREN URGES THAT ONE SPAN BE CONSTRUCTED

Prosecutor Strayer today re-Iterated a statement made to an Indianapolis paper that Gilbert H. fiendren, chief of the state board of accounts, had urged building of one of the propesed bridges over, the governor's proclamation, v Strayer claimed that Hendren called him oxer long distance from Indianapolis last night and told him he believed that at 'least one of the bridges should be built The prosecutor declares the advice

was gratuitous as he had not called Hendren nor. asked his. opinion. Hendren issued a denial to the prosecutor's statement and said he merely had coincided with Strayer? statement that many Richmond citizens believed one bridge at least should be built, regardless of the governor's opinion. Strayer and Hendren have been in consultation several times on the various phases of the Richmond bridge situation. Several Indianapolis firms are understood to be planning to submit bids lor the two bridges. .
