WASHINGTON. May 2. President Wilson and his cabinet held avery brief leaslon Tuesday and while the subject of sending American troops to France at an early date was not discussed formally It became known definitely that the prevailing view among administration officials is that a force thould be sent as soon as possible.

Dublin Women Form Branch of Red Cross

DUBLIN. Ind., May, 2. A number of ladies of Dublin have organized a Red Cross auxiliary here. A great deal of Interest has been manifested and they expect to be at work very soon. The following officers have been elected. President. Mrs. Bra Beeson; vice president, Mrs. Aldo Cain; secretary and treasurer. Mrs. Ora Oler; executive committee are Mrs. Knipe. Mrs. Francis Whorton. Mrs. Opal Walton, Miss Mary Hoover and Mrs. Annabel Ridenour. The I. O. O. F. lodge ha given the room west of Grove's grocery to use as their meeting place. - ' NEW CIRCUS LOT SOUTH OF BEALLVIEW WILL BE OPENED A new circus ground for Richmond! The South Side Improvement Association last night decided to use about forty lots belonging to 1 the Association between South O and P' streets for circus or exhibition ground." It was decided to ask the street car company to raise or repair the tracks on South Eighth 6treet in order that the street can be repaved. " Members of the association have been asked to meet with the county commissioners at the Court House, May 12. At that time bids for-the new South G bridge will be opened. OXFORD TO ISSUE HOG LOT PERMITS OXFORD. O, May 2. Mayor Hughes advocates less waste and more hogs. He has declared a dead letter the ordinance prohibiting hog raising in th village, and wants all garbage turned into 6wine. Permits will be issued to persons who . give assurance than their hog pens will be maintained in sanitary condition; otherwise the health officer will revoke the permit. This Is to continue while the war lasts and prices are high.

POSTPONE SONG FEST PLANNED FOR JUNE

CONGRESS OF MOTHERS ADVOCATE PROHIBITION

The annual Sangerfest of the TriState Saengerbund, including German Blnging societies in Indiana, Ohio and Kentucky, scheduled to be held here on June 10 has been postponed Indefinitely, following a recent decision of the North American Saengerbund that all sectional .singing contest be abandoned until the war is over. The local Maennerchor which has been preparing for the contest under the leadership of Lee B. Nusbaum will continue Its practice work. It proposes to give a concert for he benefit of the Red Cross society. The meeting would have brought contesting societies to Richmond from many of the large cities in the Middle West.

National prohibition was advocated , by the National Congress of Mothers today, and a resolution was adopted urging women to study current political questions in order to be able to vote intelligently when they get suffrage. Mrs. Frederic Schoff, Philadelphia, was re-elected president.
