Masses Hypnotized in Munition Strike By Outside Agencies AMSTERDAM, (via London), April 27. General Groencr, German director of munition supplies, in an address remarkablo for Its conciliatory tone, declared before- tho main committee of the Relchctas that the workers wHo had gone on etrike In Germany had been hypnotized and did not know what they were doing. General Groener said that even a etrike which only lasted three hours was a bad thing but added that it was intelligible that the workmen should bo depressed over the decreased bread rations. He continued: "They wanted to demonstrate to the government where it had failed. It was a hypnotism of the masses. The workmen who struck on that Monday, hardly know why they had done so, on Tuesday eveyone bad returned to his senses and on Wednesday a political change had come about. We bold proofs that inflammatory matter was smuggled in from abroad."

MUSICAL NOTES OF RICHMOND
Grandma hasn't sung much in recent years. For one thing she has been half-ashamed of her voice, no longer fresh, and for another she hasn't been able to get out 'where folks were singing. When she did go to church they sang new-fangled tunes and words mostly and it wa3 only when they launched forth, all too rarely, into a grand old hymn that she could join in. She thought she couldn't sing any mere. Her tremulous voice rather startled her when she did join in and she Imagined the young folks were amused when she let her voice out. But now ehe knows that she can sing. She learned it this week at the Community Sings. She didn't want to go to Garfield school last Monday evening for the first Sing, but little Helen next door, pleaded with her. "It's for everybody, Grandma, and they're going to sing the songs you know," urged Helen, So she went. Even Grandmother Sings. She was excited when she reached the crowded hall. But she soon found herself at .ease when her. neighbors and friends surrounded her and told her how glad they were to see her. "Suds sakes." beamed Grandma,
"folks are real nice to me, if I am old." When Ralph Sloane lifted his baton lor "America," the opening number, Grandma didn't sing. After a while she tried her voice. It actually sounded good to her and no one else paid any attention. First thing she knew she was joining in with a heart. Occasionally - her voice broke - and she was embarrassed. But everyone was so busy with bis own singing that the little Quavers went unnoticedEven Helen, who held Grandma's hand during- the first song, wasn't aware that Grandma had made a mistake. So Grandma had a grand time. She's going again, now that she knows she can sing. . ' Community singing conquered Richmond this week. It no longer is an experiment, Richmond has taken to the new idea, as other , communities have, with a rest. The ttf'o Sings, in GarHeld hall and Second Presbyterian church, attracted capacity crowds. . And, what is more important to the success of the movement, everyone seemed to enjoy himself. -The mass singing was entered into with vigor end the special numbers were applauded heartily. The two remaining Sings should be
more popular than the first two. Next Monday night in the High school auditorium the third Sing will be held. The High School orchestra wjll play, Ralph Sloane will direct the singing and special music will be furnished by soloists. , Then the following Wednesday night the fourth and last Sing will be beld in Allen Jay church for West Side folks. Special numbers of a high order are to be provided for this. The success of Russian music in America is due largely to the efforts of Modest Aitschuler, conductor of the. Russian Symphony, which plays at the Coliseum next Sunday afternoon. Aitschuler has been taking bis talr ented band up and down the land, giving to the people the works of the Slavonic masters, until that music is widely known and appreciated. Just at this time when the Russian people have snapped the chains of their masters this music has an added significance, because it expresses always the yearning of a race for freedom. Democracy may take much from Russian expression. The concert Sunday afternoon be
gins at 2:30. manager.

The very first bottle of Nerv-Worth brought a great improvement In my digestion, while quieting my nerves.
and giving me restful sleep. It also gave me a ravenous appetite, with the result that I ate rather too much and this would cause my indigestion to return. But then it was only necessary to take refuge again in Nerv-Worth, for by taking it a few days there was a resumption of good digestion and sound deep. I have taken several bottles of Nerv-Worth in all and I SIMPLY CAN'T DO WITHOUT IT. I keep ' it on hand for all emergencies. I have told all my ailing friends about the remedy and they have taken it with grand results. MRS. FRANK E. HOWE. 65 S. Fifth St., Columbus. 0. that will save yon money on Your Ice Bills . This year, we did not merely "stock refrigerators." Before deciding upon the line we would carry, the market was scoured for the makes that would be economical to keep. That is, refrigerators which required least ice. Now we are ready Ready to show you refreigators which we shall be proud to recomment. Ready to show you refrigerators which embody the newest principles of refrigeration. Every refrigerator in our stock has the "cold air draft" feature. WJien the ice is put into the ice compartment, and the door closed, a downward-and-upward air circulation immediately starts. The air circulates within the walls, down one side, across the bottom, and up the other. In this manner, there sets in no stagnation of air causing odors noticed in many refrigerators after a few weeks. There is no dampness. That is the type of refrigerator we show at any price you wish to pay.
Only the Newest Designs are Represented in Our Stocks Refrigerators built of fine oak and other hardwoods, finished in various styles to harmonize with the surroundings in your home. Most of these refrigerators have enamel, porcelain or white stone lined compartments. This assures cleanliness, for such surfaces are easily cleaned. The enamel lined compartments have onepiece walla; no sharp corners or cracks to retain dust or water.
Every Refrigerator Is
Guarantee
Reed does not offer furniture for sale which cannot be unqualifiedly guaranteed. So there is ah added advantage of purchasing so important an article as a refrigerator at such a store as this. You have the absolute assurance, that should you at any time find that your refrigerator is not exactly what it was represented to b in quality of materials or in principle, your money will be refunded.
