WASHINGTON It is a unique and thrilling story that Is told in "The Savage Instinct," the picture just "released by the Clara Kimball Young Service-World Pictures. Plutina, who lives in the heart of the Blue Ridge Mountains, is in love with Zeke, a clean young man of her neighborhood. But Dan Hughes, owner of an illicit still .has become infatuated with Plutina and covets her for his own. When Zeke leaves for the city to accept a position, Hughes drags Plutina with him to a secluded cave.- There he tries to force her to do his bidding, but Plutina runs to the sheer edge of the cliff where the cave ends and threatens to jump off if Hughes does not let her alone. It is at this critical point that Zeke, who has missed his train and who has been informed that Hughes has kidnapped Plutina, returns. Zeke is in time to save Plutina. In a fight that then ensues between Zeke and Hughes, the latter falls over the cliff to his death. "The Savage Instinct" is the latest release by the Clara Kimball Young Service-World Pictures and it will be shown at the Washington theatre today. Miss Young is supported by a cast of superior excellence in this production and handsome Chester Barnett appears as her leading man. MURRETTE Scenery of remarkable beauty is shown in "Pidgin Island," the MetroYorke five-part feature production
starring Harold Lockwood and May Allison, which will be seen at the
Morrette theatre on tomorrow.
The story, which has been pictured by Fred J. Balahofer, from Harold McGrath'e famous novel of the same name, is laid on" the rugged shores of
the Canadian border, where woods and waters form a wild scene making a
proper background for the meeting of two such daring spirits as John Cran-
ford, played by Mr. Lockwood, and
Diana Wynne, played by Miss Allison.
Both these young people - are secret agents of the United States Customs service, and in pursuit of their duties
they meet with many strange adventures. MURRAY If imitation is flattery, then George M. Cohan would naturally be expected to encounter particular difficulty in obtaining a hat that would fit his head, for if any person connected with theatricals, has been imitated to any greater extent than George M., that individual has never been 'written about. Quite contrary to the case often apparent, Georgie Cohan is today as unaffected and democratic as he was during the days he took lessons on the violin back in Providence, R. I. His many friendships are sincere regardless of "stations in life" and he is as popular with the stage carpenter as he is with the greatest of theatrical and motion picture celebrities. That he will gain hosts of new friends as a result of his forthcoming motion picture debut is readily expected. "Broadway Jones" is his Initial picture. Shown at the Murray Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday.

Are all flours pretty much alike? Most people think . so but the thousands who use Valier's Enterprise know that it is far superior to ordinary flours in baking quality; and in economy, too; because it makes v baKing per sack.
THOUGHTS TO THINK ABOUT x You should get the man -who "does things" to do, for- you what you need to have done; men who hate to work haven't . time. Man's good health depends much upon his ' hearty use of fresh air; man can cure his. ills by courting the contrary currents of his bed-chamber. : The virtues of life are the sum total of man's self-control; virtues denote the positive qualities but vice the negations of the good; virtues overturned, turn up as vice There are two links of love sincerity and loyalty; . he who would his fellowmen serve must not In either of these' swerve. The High Cost of Indigestible Food falls heavily upon the household where there is no intelligent direction of the food supply. Expensive high proteid foods, such as beef and pork, impose a heavy burden upon the liver and kidneys. They are not as nutritious as cereals and fr u i ts . Two Shredded Wheat Biscuits with milk supply all the nutriment needed for a half day's work at a cost of only four or five cents.'
