Can't Find Dandruff
SQUEAKS
From the editor's swivel chair
Every bit of dandruff disappears after one or two applications of Danderine rubbed well into the scalp with the finger tips. Get a 25-cent bottle of Danderine at any drug store and save your hair. After a few applications you can't find a particle of dandruff or any falling hair, and the scalp will never itch. Adv.
A CHILD DOESN'T LAUGH AND PLAY IF CONSTIPATED
If
peevish, feverish and sick, give "California Syrup ' of Figs."
Mother! Your child isn't naturally cross and pevish. See if tongue is coated: this is a sure sign its little stomach, liver and bowels need a cleansing at once. When listless, pale, feverish, full of cold, breath bad, throat sore, doesn't eat, sleep or act naturally, has stomach-ache, diarrhoea, remember, a gentle liver and bowel cleansing should always be the first treatment given.
Nothing equals "California Syrup of j
rigs for children s ills; give a teaspoonf ul, and in a few hours all the foul waste, sour bile and fermenting food which is clogged in the bowels passes out of the system, and you have
a well ana playful child again. All children love this harmless, delicious "fruit laxative," and it never fails to effect a good "inside" cleansing. Directions for babies, children of. all ages and grown-ups are plainly on the bottle. Keep !t handy in your home. A little given today save a sick child tomorrow, but get .. the genuine. Ask your druggist for a SO-cent bottle of California Syrup of Figs." then look and see that it is made by the "California Fig Syrup Company." Adv.
The Kaiser . will doubtless explain the capture of those 10,000 prisoners by the French as follows: The capture of 10,000 of our men by Nthe French was . a strategic move of the greatest importance. Foodstuffs are scarce in , France, therefore the feeding of these 10.000 German prisoners will further deplete the French supply and conserve our own resources. The other day we heard a man In
barber shop wondering out loud what "Oscar Hungary" would do now that the United StatesMs at war with Germany. ' ' Richmond Is so enthusiastic that marchers along the line of parade yesterday could almost hear handclapping occasionally. . In fact the patriotism was so "rampant" and the noise so sepulchred that some of the ' marchers wondered whether someone had played a joke on them and Injected two or three hearses in the parade somewhere. We understand - after : marching through that silent wall of humanity yesterday why vaudeville actors oc
casionally remind a Richmond audience that they generally get a laugh "on that one." . For the information of some 23.999
persons who stood along the line of
march yesterday, those who stood back of the ropes, it is the custom of American citizens to stand with bared heads when the national songs are being played or sung. Outside of these few observations
we rise to remark that participation in the patriotic celebration yesterday was inspiring and well worth the sore muscles and the shoe leather.
And by the way, did you see Rich
mond's fighting parsons?
And bosses marching right . along
with the office boy and the janitor?
In what other country but a great republic like the United States., which today stands for all that civilization and Christianity means, would such a spectacle be possible?

FOUR-FOLD BENEFIT
From Two Grand Medicines In Spring. You know that physicians often give two prescriptions, perhaps more medicine to be taken together or alternately, or at different times. One reason may be that the medicines are "incompotible" do not agree when closely mixed in taking or that desired results cannot be secured by one medicine alone. The most successful combination spring medicine treatment that we know of because perfectly "compatible" and productive of the best results is In Hood's Sarasparilla and Peptlron Pills. The former thoroughly searches ' out and expels impurities from the blood, while Peptiron PUls give the powerful toic they literally "put iron into your blood." Hood's Sarsaparilla should be taken before meals and Peptlron Pills after meals patients taking them so report the benefit is four-fold prompt, positive, permanent. Both these medicines are economical and pleasant to take. Adv.

"A GOOD CAR"
r.
The Best Buy this Spring? It Has No Rival at Its Price
It is a good car why? Because it gives to its present owners the real satisfaction that a man feels when he owns an automobile that he knows is always ready. Saxon Cars are built to win the confidence of its owners, and they do. Ask a Davis (a car) owner what he thinks of a Continental Motor? Ask a
Cadillac (a car) owner l what he thinks of Timken Axles and Bearings? Ask a Cole (a- car) owner what he thinks of the Stromburg Carburetor? The above questions will give you an idea of what class car the Saxon is. It is just what we claim for it, a car which is in the $1200 class, but which sells for $865.
