SQUEAKS

From the editor's swivel chair

Since some really clever column

conductor started it, all the imitators in the country have been joining in

the refrain. "Sister Susie's Sowing

Spuds for Soldiers." The supply of white paper would be conserved if all editors would eliminate press notices of motion picture stars who offer their services to their country. No time should be lost In Informing the Kaiser that a Tipton woman and her husband saw a large American flag above the horizon at sunrise the other morning. Wilhelm would no doubt realize that his much boasted divine alliance is not even a scrap of paper any longer. If Billy Sunday and Theodore Roosevelt were to call for volunteers to follow them to the French front, their personal following would constitute a most formidable array of willing fighters. Why are chorus men? J. Oqden Armour's suggestion of meatless days may seem strange to people of means, but there is many a poor family right now that knows meatless days for a reality with porkers selling at $10.50. How long before the government will step in and protect the home folks by adjusting prices through control of supplies? Richmond's young men are not making a rush for the license bureau. Her young men of ightlng age are not slackers. There is no dearth of young women either between the ages of 19 and 30

who would be willing to help keep some man from army service.

Taken from the famous play "Frou Frou," this entrancing offering is extremely effective. MURRETTE It Is a tremendous situation as we watch the struggle of this high-strung girl and her final decision to reap the only revenge within her power against the man who has proven treacherous to herself and to her father. Owpn Moore co-stars with Miss Fenwick In this Paramount Picture which is the attraction at the Murrette Theater today and Thursday. Del Henderson, who directed "A Coney Island Princess," in which Miss Fenwick and Moore co-starred, staged "A Girl Like That" for the Famous Players. MURRAY ' King Baggot, America's foremost screen star, will make a personal appearance at the Murray Friday, in

connection with the greatest dramatic triumph of his career, "Absinthe," a five reel picture taken in Faris,

France. Mr. Baggott ' has worked faithfully for nearly seven years in

pictures, and is now taking a much needed rest or vacation, by making a

tour of personal appearanc throughout the country, proving that the public will not allow him a vacation, for

as soon as his contract expired with

the Universal Film Company, the demand for his services was so great,

that he is compelled to work.

Lift Out Your Corns

ICE-MINT THE NEW DISCOVERY ENDS ALL Foot Troubles

This new discovery, made from a Japanese product is certainly a wonder the way it draws out inflammation from a pair of swollen, burning, aclt Ing feet. It takes the soreness right cut. then the corn or callous shrivels ami lifts off. Hard corns, soft corns or corn between the toes, just shrivel up and life off sn ensy. It is wonderful. Just, think! Not one bit of pain while applying Tee-mint or afterwards. It doesn't even irritate the surrounding skin. You will never have to cut a corn again and run the risk of blood poison. Say good-by to your old corn salve, plasters and bundling tape for that pet corn of yours is sure to be a "goner" If it ever feels the magic touch of Icemint. " It imparts such. a delightful, sooth Ing, cooling feeling to the feet tiat you

will sigh with relief. I Ice-mint is the real Japanese secret : for fine, healthy little feet. It prevents I foot odors and keeps them sweet and j comfortable. It Is greatly appreciated by women who wear high shoes. Just ask in any drug store for a lit- j tie Ice-mint and give your poor, suffer I ing, tired, swollen feet the treat of their lives. It costs little and there is j nothing better. i
