Think About This
; It's a mistake to write dollar quality into a i ten cent article. Business Chat. ,
i ' The Issue i i The only issue before the American people i today is: Shall the United States win this war? The only answer to the issue is, Yes.
j Every patriot must keep this issue and this - answer in mind. . It is not a question of whether the war is j wrong or right, whether President Wilson acted wisely or foolishly. t It is not a question of how many relatives you may have in Germany, or how great you may adjmire the German people, or how pro-German fyou were in the past. I The tremendously important question is that i the United States has decreed for war, and the r American people must now look upon the German , government as an enemy. It is a struggle between two' nations. Every
I citizen must be an American who now looks upon
J Germany as his enemy. He must be pro-American in every respect and in every particular. He
I cannot be luke warm or "neutral." He must re-
t member tha if Germany wins the , war, every American must pay the price for that victory, sin that event, the United States will be a conquered country, paying tribute to Germany.
Hence, there can be but one outcome if Amer
ican happiness and prosperity are to continue,
namely, victory for the United States. Defeat i will wipe out this republic. If you keep thase issues clearly. in mind, you ncannot help from being a Patriotic and Loyal ; American citizen. You will serve your country r as befits a citizen who knows that the future happiness of his nation and her people depends upon him. ; Individual responsibility cannot be shirked or ji sidestepped. Your neighbor's duty is no greater ?than your own. Each of us has something at . stake, each of us must help bring the sacrifice, leach of us must co-operate with the other in bringing about the victory. t
tend to till the soil this year with patriotic fervor and zeaL '
The dollar and cents view is not the incentive that will bring success to Governor Goodrich's movement to make Indiana soil yield its utmost productivity this yar. The motive behind it is simon pure patriotism. And that is the spirit with which Wayne county farmers went to work this week. The task of plowing the fields and sowing the seed will take on a new meaning and a nobler purpose this year. Every hard lick which the agriculturist puts in this spring is a blow struck in defense of the United States and for the perpetuation of the principles for which the American government stands.
"RAGGED PRINCESS," FRIDAY AND SATURDAY
The experience of ; England and France proves that the war will be won by the side that has the greatest resources and husbands them best. - . ' - One of the most, important contributions of America to the ultimate victory of her allies will be the amount of foodstuff which she can spare to feed their armies and their people. If Wayne county farmers can make their acres yield more abundantly than ever before because of intensive cultivation this year, they - will be contributing their share to the warfare which the United States is waging. The large attendance at Saturday's meeting, despite the short time given to work up the meeting, proves that the farmers are willing and anxious to help the cause of patriotism. One class of our citizenship has spoken. Let all of us prove that we are patriots as well.

The Farmer as a Patriot
' The farmers of Wayne county will hot be j needed in the trenches half so badly as they will ; ,bc behind the plow. Armies must have food to ;
: fight. A hungry army is as useless as an army without guns and bullets. The patriotic sentiments expressed at the mass meeting of Wayne county farmers Saturday afternoon proves that the agriculturists of this community are awake to their duty and in-
Poor Wheat Outlook Let the citizens of Richmond read the news dispatch which follows. It will prove to them that the call for the conservation of our food supply is not a hysterical one. The condition of the wheat crop on April 1, as compiled by the United States government, was 63.4 per cent of normal. The acreage planted to wheat last autumn was one of the largest in the history of the United States, but adverse weather conditions destroyed more than 30 per cent of the growing wheat. . . . . . The government report deserves your careful attention. Do not" waste a scrap of food. Save everything and use it for other meals. Do not wait until the pinch of scarcity strikes you, but begin now. We are convinced that few persons will heed the warning of the government.' Most of us exercise little forethought.. When the day of, want comes, do not blame the government, but blame yourself. - The news-dispatch is appended: WASHINGTON. ADril 7. The winter wheat ciod of

It is easy for man to miss his way when he is unable to find himself; success starts with self and grows as man more and more knows himself.

most comfortable by the use of Dr. Pierce s Anuric Tablets. When I started to take this medicine my right kidney pained me at each excretion and my back ached all the time and was so stiff I could scarcely get up after lying down. The first bottle I took of
Anuric completely cured me of these conditions, and the rheumatism in my shoulders, hands and feet 'is diminishing so rapidly I can scarcely believe that Anuric has done so much for me in so short a time. I feel extremely grateful for this relief and am only too glad to recommend 4nuric every chance I get." Mas. S. J. HoBEirrs, 917 Cottage Ave.
