Hats
Both
Smart
and
Pretty
A sports hat which advertises Its use ornamentally is this of loosely woven fibre straw in dark red. It swoops downward at an angle guaranteed to "flatter" its wearer. Blue faille dotted In red swathes the crown and tennis racquets in Burgundy red bone gaily deck it, extending above the top. When a hat rolls back abruptly from the face It can be guaranteed to add charm and piquancy to the wearer's appearance If It is at all becoming. To make sure that this brown hemp hat shall have a really triumphal air of prettlness, a wreath of gree enamel laurel leaves Is also used.
AL KUTTER HASTENS TO BECOME CITIZEN UNDER "OLD GLORY"
Al Kutter, of Boston, Ind., formerly a member of the Richmond police department, has discovered that he is not an American citizen but is, technically, a citizen of the French republic. "I came to Richmond today to look Into this matter. I am a red hot American in fact but not in reality, I have discovered," Kutter said. "You can take it from me, though, that I will be a regular American just as soon as I can get out my papers." Kutter was born under the Frenoh flag in the now German province of Alsace-Loraine. Following the FrancoFriiBBian war, when France was forced to cede Alsace-Loraine to Germany, - Kutter's father refased to bwear allegiance to the kaiser and he came to America. Al Kutter was then a very small boy. He now discovers that his father never became a naturalized American. Kutter is of course jubilent that America has now joined forces with its ancient ally, France, for he believes this means the restoration of the land of his birth. Alsace-Loraine, to French sovereignty. Kutter served three years in the Indiana national guard, as a member of the Richmond fire department and as a member of the police force.
