"Birds in History and Story" was the subject of an Interesting article read by Mrs. Filmore Riggs. Mrs. Ellis Learner had a paper, "Audubon and His Wanderings." The last meeting of the club for the year will be held Tuesday, April 10, and the hostess will be named later. The V. V. club did not meet last evening with Miss Hester Williams at her home. The members of the Ladies U. C. T. Social club were entertained yesterday afternoon by Mrs. Edward Dye at her home, North Thirteenth street. Mrs. Nell Barnard, In the absence of Mrs. Lahrman, gave a study of the constitution. Mrs. Peter Culter read a paper, "Movies." Guests of the club were Mrs. Perry Becher of Kankakee, 111.; Mrs. C. B. Beck and Mrs. Barnard. Mr. Harmeyer of Lafayette, spoke about preparations for the convention of the UVC. T. to' be held here in May. A meeting of the Woman's Relief Corps will be held Thursday afternoon in the post room at the court house. A meeting of the Kings' Daughters of the Second Presbyterian church was held last evening at the home of Miss Ruth Bradley, North Sixteenth street. During the business session officers were installed. The mission study topic was taken up after which an informal program was presented.

Miss Luella Powers sang and Miss Iris Cook gave violin numbers. The luncheon was In two courses. Miss Mable Overman will be hostess for the meeting of the society, April 17. A card party will be gives Thursday evening at t o'clock In the Eagles' hall. .Friday afternoon the wives of the members will give a party. - Mr. and Mrs. Fred Bates have returned from a trip through the south. Members of the Wi-Mo-Daa-Sis club will meet Thursday evening with Miss Mabel King. There was a large attendance at the' concert given last evening at the Third M. E. church by the Williams Concert company. The program as announced was given without change. Members of the mission study class of the East Main Street Friends' church, met last evening at the home of Mrs. Milo Hinckle, South Seventeenth street. Thursday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock Circle Number 1 of the aid society of the First Presbyterian church, under the direction of Mrs. A. J. Whallon, will give a tea at the home of Mrs. J. M. Coate in Reeveston. The convention of the Psi Iota XI sorority will be held June 21-22 at Columbus, Indiana. Ten members and nine guests, the latter including Mrs. Levi Myers, Mrs. Walter Test, Mrs. Forest Meek, Mrs. Will Culbertson, Mrs. Martha Miller, Mrs. Charles Rupe, Mrs. Will Klopp, Mrs. Albert Puthoff and Mrs. George Newbern. Mrs. Lily Balrd completed the study in a series on textiles. Her subject was "Silks." A paper,, "The Life of Jane Addams," was given by Miss Alice Macy. The decorations

were in pink and white carnations. A delicious luncheon in courses was served. April 10 Mrs. Nora Norris entertains the club at her home on the Middleboro pike. Friday evening at the Columbia school house the aid society of the Second English Lutheran church will present "The Old Peabody Pew", under the auspices of the study class.
