COUNTY FEELS GROWING NEED FOR FARM AIDE

I Vocational high schools are for toys and men from fifteen to twentysix years of age. them. Farmers Try Experiments. . This Bummer several of them will try experiments on bmall scales. Beck is not required to accept any person In the night classes who is over twenty-six year3 of age. He did not draw the restricting line, however, and several of the oldest farmers of the township attended the night classes. County Superintendent Williams has predicted that work like Beck Is doing and which will be done In vocational high schools will eventually lead to farmers demanding the employment of an agricultural agent in Wayne county.

ORCHESTRA RECITAL PROVES SUCCESS

Seating capacity of the Falrvlew Methodist church was taxed last night when three hundred people were present at the second popular concert given by the Williams Concert Orchestra of this city. The soloists were Drew G. Lacey and Miss Estella Thomas. Sterling L. Reid rendered his cornet solo, "The Sunshine of Your Smile." The ,. work of Miss Charlotte Rogers and the quartet of the Central Christian church was applauded. The attraction was given under the auspices of the O. R. O. W. class of the church.

PHYSICIANS ANSWER CALL FOR SERVICE

Several Richmond physicians probably will answer the call of the Auxiliary Medical Committee for National Defense for 25,000 medical reserve officers. A number of them were interviewed by the Palladium today. Among the yonuger members of the profession a willingness to serve was evident The older men are not so eager. Tie medical reserve corps now number about 3.000, of which number 2,000 have been enlisted within the last 18 months. Surgeon Geueral Gorgas of the army says a reserve of 25,000 is needed.

The Victoria Regia, a lily native to Brazil, has leaves measuring from ten to twenty feet in diameter.

THIRD METHODISTS RECEIVE 55 PERSONS

Fifty-five persons were received into Third Methodist church during last year, according to Rev. J. P. Chamness' report to the annual conference in Huntington today. Forty of these were baptized and 15 were received by letter. The congregation raised $1,280 for all purposes. Church attendance was increased 25 per cent and Sunday school attendance 50 per cent. The pastor made 1,050 calls during the year, conducted 30 funerals and officiated at 12 weddings.

NEW ALBANY ASKS RICHMOND FOR AID; CLUB GETS APPEAL

The New Albany relief committee sends out the following appeal by telegram for relief through the Commercial Club: "Our city helpless In face of tremendous disaster. Tornado killed thirty-seven, wounded several hundred, made twenty-live hundred homeless, caused one million dollars damage to homes and factories. Every business man trying to restore noraml conditions but burden too great for this community alone. "In face of this terrible disaster, we have no hesitation In urging your consideration of financial help In raising two hundred and fifty thousand dollars needed by Red Cross Society to carry on emergency relief work. Maximum amount that your citizens care to send will be gratefully received by the sufferers and deeply appreciated. New Albany Citizens' Relief Committee, E. V. Knight, Treasurer." The officers of the club recommend that all contributions for New Albany be made to the Richmond Society of the American Red Cross. Checks can be mailed or left at the rooms in Masonic Temple.
