BULL CROP REPORTS STRENGTHEN MARKET
(By Associated Press) CHICAGO. March 23. Bullish crop reports from the winter belt as a whole, and especially from Nebraska, gave strength today to the wheat market. Numerous dispatches from Nebraska indicated heavy winter killing. Commission houses were for the most part on the buying side and found offerings light. Opening prices, which ranged from the same as yesterday's finish to 14 higher with May at $1.87 to 1.$1Y3 and July at $1.57 to $1.58 were followed by a slight reaction but then a fresh upturn all around. Corn responded to continued bullish crop advices from Argentina. Advances carried the market to the highest level yet. After opening to 1 up, prices hardened further. Oats tended upward with other cereals. Buying, however, was not urgent. Liberal demand for lard put firmness into the entire provision list. Sellers were scarce.
