Bees Are Interesting It takeB a Tory busy pea to write about the busy bee. The bee la an Insect' It has six legs. Bees are divided into three classes the workers, the queen, and the drones. The workers gather the nectar and pollen which they put in the baskets on their hind legs. The
workers mix the pollen and nec
tar, and this is called bee bread. They eat some of the nectar and in a short time a wax forms on the outside of their body. This they
take off and put into their mouths
and work it and make it into cells,
The queen is the mother of all the bees. She lays the -eggs and never makes a mistake in putting
the eggs In their proper cells, but
puts the queen eggs in the queen cell and the drome eggs in the
dromo cells and the worker's eggs in the worker's cells. In three days after the eggs are laid they are hatched. The workers play as
nurses and take care and feed the
little ones.
; Soon the young bees settle down
and in twenty-one days after the eggs are ' hatched they are full
grown bees.. '- ... . . The drones, are the lasy bees,
They do not work because they
have no tools. . '
The bee is a very wise little crea
ture, and can follow directions very well. , The bee teaches us a good
lesson how , we should . always be
busy too' and not waste the preci
ous Ume that Cod gives us. ,.The
bee Is a very expensive little crea
ture. , Onco my grandfather bought
a queen bee from the Caroline Is lands that was worth three dollars
