LABORER ATTEMPTS TO GORE FOREMAN WITH PITCHFORK Assault and battery with intent to oommit murder was the charge lodged against William Johnson, 35, a Kentuckian employed on the Jesse Druly farm near Boston, by Prosecutor Strayer, today. Johnson was arrested last night by Sheriff Carr after he had attempted to Injure Washington Rlngley, foreman on the Druly farm. It is alleged that the farm band came to Richmond yesterday and be came intoxicated. Before he left Boston, he was In the best of. humor to

home, he stopped at a grocery store and tried to purchase groceries on time. He is married and has three children. The groceryman refused to give Johnson credit. Then he in some way became angered at the foreman. On the way to the farm to stopped at at neighbor's bouse and tried to borrow a shot gun, but bis wash was refused. He approached Rlngley without "warning. Johnson struck at the foreman with a black-jack it is alleged. Bingley stopped the blow. Then Johnson picked up a. pitchfork 'and started at Rlngley, it is claimed. Just as he jabbed, Clarence Hobbs, another farm hand,-grabbed him. The blow was stopped but not until the prongs of the fork had penetrated the clothing over the right side of Rlngley 's abdomen. NEW COST SYSTEM APPLIED TO HOMES

Benson, a native of this city, but now located in Detroit, will be one of the principal speakers at the coming state adult Bible class conventions at Lancaster March 27 and 28. Benson is reputed to be one of America's greatest evangelists and social service workers. QUARANTINE REMOVED EATON. Ohio, March .15 Quarantine restrictions at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Runyon, East Decatur street, were removed Wednesday by Health Officer Armstrong. Mrs. Runyon has fully recovered from the effects of a mild case of scarlet fever.

NEW PARIS, Ohio, March 15. Leo Davisson moved Tuesday to the Stanley Campbell farm near Campbells-
town, and Mr. and Mrs. Omar Mikesell of Richmond, will move soon to the Davisson property here. Mr. and Mrs. C. R. Hawley and Mr. and Mrs. C. C. Hawley moved Wednesday to the C. M. Mitchell farm, while T. L. Brawley moved from the country to the house vacated by Hawley, having made the purchase thereof. Charles Cugsins moved Wednesday to Richmond, and J. F. Clawson and, daughter will move to the property vacated by Cuseins, while Mrs. Stella Miller, of Richmond, will remove to the house vacated by Clawson, which she owns.

their friends and those interested in the New Paris schools, because of their victory in the Literary contest held Tuesday evening in the auditorium of the Jackson Township schools. Miss Hill was in the vocal department and Miss Davisson in the recitation department. A number of interested persons accompanied the six Jefferson Township contestants.
