BY FRANK DUNING Richmond's chance to finish high in the state lists Is a well-developed one. Richmond will reach the semi finals,
or finale, for that matter, barring one possible obstruction. Wingate, two time state champs 13 that possible obstruction. Richmond, after disposing of Columbus Friday afternoon is slated to meet the winner of (be Wingate-Rochester game. Stonebreaker's posterity may g(ve R. H. S. trouble. Wingate Regarded Strong. But barring Wingate and the unexpected in form of a dark horse team, Richmond will have comparatively comfortable traveling throughout the preliminary games. The first opposition. Columbus, looms especially attractive to the local hopes for tho state cambric. It is o be remembered that Columbus had a whale of a time in downing Westport pome lime ago. In the tourney here. Richmond defeated W. H. S., 97 to 13. .Then conies the Wingate or Rochester game. Wingate in all probability will be R. H. S opposition in the second effort of the Quakers. Safely through the second storm carter, which by the way, breaks at 8 o'clock Saturday morning. Richmond wad' into the semi-finals against a section of a Rockville-Bluffton-Vincen-iH-6-Gary array, Kmerson High, of Gary, doesn't look soft to R. H. S. Richmond Stamina Counts. Should Richmond stamina and basketball talcait be on its feet at the close of Saturday afternoon's skirmishing, the R. H. S. squad will be sent to bed to await the big and final test. The title contest is called at 8 o'clock.
Richmond Five Enters Training For State Lists
In preparation for the Bloomington trip, Richmond high school basketball squad Is frodding the, path of the prospective winner. Coach Lyboult has inaugurated a rigid system of training work and if R II. " S. is thrown out of the' state lists Friday it will not be because of a lack of training. The team ..went through light signal and skirmish work in the school gym last night. Wednesday night the team works at the Coliseum. The squad leaves for Bloomington Thursday noon. ' Columbus, Richmond's first adversary, is somewhat of a one-man team and R. H. S. is asked to look out for one Turner, a forward. Forward Conn and Guard Taylor, too, are dependable men at the hoops. Columbus's first string lineup is Conn and Turner, forwards; Cook, center; Taylor and Crirn, guards; Sharp, Barnaby and Schaefer are the C. H. S. second stringers.
BENEFIT POLO

SLEET STORM KEEPS MEN FROM WORKING ON LEAGUE GROUND
Heavy rains and the sleet storm ci last night prevented the. starting of the work to grade Gilbert field, which js to be the home of the Richmond Central league team, which-was to have begun today. ' , - This was a "great disappointment to the club directors who realize that no time can be lost if the park is ready for use on the date of the league opening, May 3, when Richmond is billed to give battle to the South Bend team. Manager Myers will arrive in Richmond from Grarjd Rapids late this afternoon. He was in conference with League President Dickerson yesterday. Club officials are anxious to meet with Myers to learn what deals he has "on the fire" with the Toledo and Columbus clubs of the American Association. The only information they have is that Richmond has a prospect of securing three Toledo players and- at least two Columbus players. Cfnly Myers. knows who these men are. Club directors will hc4d. another meeting tomorrow and one of the questions that wiil be discussed pertains to the sale of season tickets.
