Beautiful Colonial Mansion Is Erected for J. G. Gates Vitrified Brick is Used to Complete Beautiful Exterior.

The home of J. G. Gates, South Eighteenth street, is featured on this page today as one of the most attractive homes erected in Richmond last year. Although modern in every respect as far as conveniences are concerned, the colonial style of architecture is carried out to perfection in the new structure. Vitrified brick and stone were used in the general structural work.

The inside of the building is finished in white to maintain the colonial effect. Contains Seven Rooms The house contains seven spacious rooms including the sun parlor which adds much to the general outside appearance of the home as can be seen from the picture above. The house is heated with hot water, the system having been installed by Johanning plumbing company which also in

stalled and furnished all other modern plumbing fixtures. . Crane Electric company did the wiring and furnished fixtures. The lighting system was installed with special care to harmonize with ,. the general colonial design. . All work on the new building was done by Richmond labor. Vincent Juerling was the general, contractor. Bode Brothers had charge of the plastering work.
