Costs of the foregoing improvements in the county are distributed in such a way that officialsdeclare they will work no hardships in the way of taxation. The county's share may be met with the seven cent tax levy which was formerly needed to pay off court house bonds. The last of these was paid in 1916. County commissioners have expressed their intention of holding a big celebration when the first work is done on the new Main street bridge. It has been suggested that this celebration be enlarged and that it be devoted to a general celebration of the new era of public improvements. Since the improvements are of common interest to all residents of the county, it would offer an excellent opportunity to write the first chapter in an "era of good feeling" campaignRichmond Arranges Celebration. It would be a celebration of the people, for the people and by the people of Wayne county, and not merely a celebration given by Richmond for neighboring communities. Such a gathering would get Wayne county, Richmond and all towns much publicity throughout the state. And it would be the kind that counts that which shows the county is progressive.
