Proclamation By Mayor W.JJUHns Calling on all citizens of Richmond to display the national emblem and to show that they stand ready and willing to support President Wilson in his efforts to uphold the dignity of the nation, and on lodges, churches,

schools and civic organiza-

tions to hold appropriate ex-v ercises at their meetings Mayor W. J. Robbins yesterday issued a proclamation setting aside March 4-1 1 as "patriotic week." The proclamation follows: "To the citizens of the city of Richmond, Ind.: "Whereas, our common council has designated the week of March 4 to 11, 1917, as our first patriotic week, and has directed that a proclamation be made, calling for a general observance of the week; "Therefore, in accordance with their action, let us, as true patriotic citizens, pledge ourselves that this coming week will find us imbued with that same spirit of devotion to our country that inspired those of other days to do and die, that this great nation might live. "May we, during this week, 'not only as individuals, but in our churches, our schools, our lodges and our various civic organizations, show bur loyalty to our country and its institutions by appropriate exercises of a patriotic nature. . "Let 'Old Glory' be displayed from every home, business house and public building as a token to the world that we are a united people, and regardless of our differences of opinion, that we stand ready and willing to support our President In this trying hour, and that we, as truf Americans, pledge to him and through him to our country, all that is near and dear to us in upholding the honor and dignity of the nation.''
