NEW GAR SUPPLIES BRINGS STRENGTH TO WHEAT MARKET

(By Associated Press) CHICAGO, Feb. 28. Prospects of an Increased Bupply of railway cars here brought , about a decided mani- . testation of strength today in the wheat market It was said the Inter state commerce commission orders sending 800 cars to Minneapolis bad been cancelled and that the outlook waa for a material enlargement of the number available for shipment from Chicago. The bears were also handicapped by continued unfavorable crop report from the southwest Opening prices, which ranged from the same as Monday's finish to c higher, with May at $1.77 to $1.78 and July at $1.51, were followed by substantial gains all around. Corn was lifted chiefly by a notable rise in the hog market The strength of wheat former only secondary bullish influence. After opening off to up corn prices scored moderate gains all around. Oats rose with other grain. Cash houses were good buyers. Provisions jumped to new high record quotations, said to be the highest ever known if civil war prices were reduced to a gold basis. European scarcity and the upward sweep of the hog market formed the chief accepted reasons for the advance.
