Home dealers were given contracts lor all raw '. materials' excepting the steeL reinforcing. The work was divided between local contractors. Steele, himtelf, had general charge M the construction work. Built Out o Stsef. The structure ia built almost entirely of steel and cement products. There is a small amount of woodwork in some of the office rooms. A brick and stcne front faces Main street. The building is sixty feet wide and one-huhdred and forty feet deep. It is two stories. Louck & Hill furnished the doors and. other woodwork of the building. The Richmond Electric company did all the wiring and installed the lights. The system was arranged to throw the best possible light oa goods displayed and to insure good artificial light for workmen. . . Furnished by Irvin Reed. Large windows insure plenty of light In the day time. The glass Was furnished by Irvin Reed & Son. The glass inside ftnt back windows fronts of the two first floor salesis set in fireproof sashes. The
reams in the buildings are made entirely of plate glass. tanlsy Pluinting " and Elsctris company installed the- plumbing: and heating system. The vapor; heating eysteni is used. Thi system insures a steady heat and makes "knocking" in the radiators impossible. The heating system is considered of one of the essential qualities of the building because of the many automobiles which are stored in the Chenoweth garage during winter months. Scbroeder did the plastering work which is of a rough sand finish variety. - r Officers of Company Officers of the Richmond Electric company, which occupies the -west half of the building, are: W. M. Eailej-, president; B. J. Anderson, vice-president; C. T. Wiley, treasurer and manager; E. M. Anderson, secretary. ' This company has grown rapidly since it was founded a few years ago. It has moved several times, -bnt in every instance, into larger and better quarters. It is the purpose of officials to make this it permanent headquarters and to place sub-departments in other buildings if an increased business makes this necessary.The company specialises in electric garage and vehicle work. It tends to all repair work on electrics for the Chendweth garage and maintains a. large charging station. Maintains Storage Station x The company maintains ' a ."vVillard storage battery service station, which at present requires the services of eight men. It manufactures the Realite Electric farm lighting system. It con
tracts for doinr electrio wiring in old and new buildings. AU the latest electrical fixtures, elecLrio ranges, and electric cooking eppliances may be found in the com- , pany's display room on the second floor! This f oom is neatly furnished for the comfort of customers. . Chenoweth Garage .company, which occupies the east half of the ne' building; specialize in repair work and in the sales of Buick automobiles arid UHburn eleciries. Chenoweth Is Martager Harry W. Chenoweth, manager, is assisted by a live wire tales force composed cf H. J. Thomas, H. R. Marlatt, Afilliam. Watts, Horatio tnd. Miss Edn Harris is book-veeper and secretary. The 36or of the garage proper is ia charge of, Curtis Wickett and the shop and repair department at the rear of the second floor is under the direction of Herman Weltman. One new feature of the garage la the large ladies' rest room in the front of the second floor. This room is furnished with all the latest conveniences and fixtures furnished entirely by local merchants. A modern curb and filling station is located in. front of th building. Will Drive euiokft Here. . . The Chenoweth company is plan ning to have a large driv of fifty Buick cars frofii the factory, Flint, Mich,, to the . local salesroom as soon as the weather pennite. It is impossible to gee railroad cars because of tw. congestion of traffic. Host of these fifty automobiles have been; sold for spring delivery. The Others will be kept itf stock. Storage1 room can be provided for one-hundred automobiles, . Tbe . company nandles a full line, of ac- -cessories and handles Goodyear and General tires.
