Flory have been busy overseeing the work of drilling wells from which to procure a supply of water. An artificial plant the town supported some few years ago had to be abandoned because the water supply was Insufficient The promoters of the new industry have been engaged in the natural ice business here for the last three or four years.
AMUSEMENTS AT LOCAL HOUSES
"TWIN BEOS" HERE "Twin Beds," the brilliant comedy success of three continents, which A. S. Stern and Company will bring to town on Friday, Feb. 2, at the Washington theatre, has proved to be the most strikingly popular comedy ever written. It started its career In New York In August, 1914, and ran there steadily for one whole year. In the spring of 1915, another company began an engagement in London, where the play still holds the boards, and negotiations are now on foot for early presentations in Paris, Berlin, Petrograd. Rome. Madrid, South America, Fouth Africa and Japan. Yet Sails bury Field and Margaret Mayo who wrote the comedy have somewhat pleatlngly confessed that various prominent American managers read "Twin Beds." and declined to have anything to do with the gold mine. It is as certain as mundane affairs can be that 'Twin Beds" is the; biggest comedy success of a decade. It is clear, clean, healthy fun from beginning to end, and it is not only brightly written but brilliantly acted. "Twin Beds" is said to keep the audience in convulsions of mirth and to be the most wildly laughable comedy that ever set a house in uproar. MURRAY It is not often that juvenile comedy rets by on its own merit, but generally because the audience is moved by human sympathy and toleration for the efforts of children. Such was not the rase at the Murray last night in the "Junior Follies." The show was most liberally applauded because the three Junior singers and dancers, children of less than a dozen years, displayed a grace in dancing that is Beldom seen in the efforts of adults. "Asthma" the comedy role keeps the house in laughter, but even without the efforts of the older members of the cast, whose bare knees and short skirts do not entirely disguise their years, the bill would still remain one of the best tabloids seen at the Murray. "BIRTH OF A NATION" Following a year of world-wide triumph, the magnificent spectacle "The Birth of a Nation," produced by David W. Griffith at a cost of $500,000 will return to this city for a limited engagement of two days, Feb. 9-10, Frl-
