Doctors Say Colds Must Be Prevented
They do, not because it is a fad. but because they wish to obtain the greatest possible hair beauty and be sure they, are not using anything harmful. They have found that in washing the hair it is never wise to use a makeshift but is always advisable to use a preparation made for shampooing only. Many of our friends say they get the best results from a simple home-made canthrox mixture. You
can use this at a cost of about three I
cents a shampoo by getting some canthrox from your druggist, and dissolving a teaspoonful in a cup of hot water.
This makes enough shampoo liquid to i
apply to all the hair instead of just'
the top of the nead, as with most preparations. Dandruff, excess oil and dirt are dissolved and entirely disappear in the rinsing water. Your hair will be so fluffy that it will look much heavier than it is. lis lustre and softness will also delight you. Adv.
Infections of the nose, ear and throaJ often requiring costly and dangerooi operations under the knife, may resnB from ardiary "cold in the head.' These can in most cases be prevented by use of Zonite diluted in water and used as a epray, although, if througl neglect the ear has become infected consult an ear specialist at once. Thi American Medical Association at iti Detroit convention seriously consider fed dangers of neglecting simple pre cautions. Doctor Hill Hastings of Loi Angeles declared ninety out of ever; hundred cases of mastoiditis (a diseast most frequently fatal) result from ordi nary colds and sore throats. Othei grave maladies are caused in the sam way. The nostrils should be kepi clean by the use of Zonite. thus pre venting infection by germ-laden air.
