The Quakers, after setLing back the Indianapolis Jette comMnation will necessarily walk over the New Castle-Duggan combine ionlght if it cares a whole lot about remaining in first stall of the I. S. L. It is practically certain that Billy Ouggan, "the Ty Cobb of polo," from way down East, will be with the Ooherty caucus this eve. Latest word from the New Castle front is to the effect that William had changed cars at New York and was beaded toward the wild and woolly via the Pennsy. Should Duggac prove half as good as the nice things said about him, Rich
mond will experience trouble. New Castle, vitb the Easterner, looms as real class. The result of the battle will largely determine Richmond's chances of leadingt he list at the close of this week's schedule. Quakers, 6; Indians, 3. Stacked against our own Jimmy O'Metz in the thrilling three-reeler at the Coliseum last night, Billy Jette, the Paw tucket sensation, counted on as the Joan of Arc of the Indianapolis five, loomed clam mussels aside of Paraguay pearls in comparison. The comparison, and it takes nerve to uae lb word, in cold facts read O'Metz. sixty-six stops, three misses; Jette, thirty-seven 6tops, six misses. ; From this war summary it mijrht be taken that O'Metx tended goal last 1
rJfcht. .... . , - . ...",. : . O'Metx Deserves the Glory. Richmond might consider itself ucky In taking the. Indian tag. The Indianapolis offensive was way ahead of the Quaker attack. Credit is due O'Metz alone. In matter of goals scored, Richmond was miles and miles ahead at any rtage of the contest. The Quakers fooled Jette three times In the first part and repeated in the second before Jimmy O'Metz unloosened to the extent of two Indian tallies. Richmond's victory helps a whole lot inasmuch as the New Castle and Muncie teams are getting too familiar. A victory over New Castle tonight will make the Quaker lead resonably safe for the rest of the week. The Indian-Quaker game in figures: Richmond (6) Indianapolis (3) L. Quigley Lewis First Rush O. Rustlings of the Netting
An boar before the game the corner caucus had voted that Richmond must strengthen by adding a new goal tend. L. Quigley too came in for his share of the criticism. Louis made five goals last night. All of which goes to prove the worth of the "trade at home" slogan. ' If things had not broken adversly for Sox Quigley and Walt Evans, the ccore would have been 8 to 3. Billy Jette had nothing but his reputation last night. George Cunningham has supplanted Harry Thompson as arbiter. Cunny's work is good. Doc Harold had a big night of it. Its seldom that . Noah's companion breaks inti the score sheet to" the extent of one goal and one foul.

Brunton on the other hand, showed a tendency to overlook 'em now and then. Date Geyer who usually Alls 'em up for the Eagles had an off night. He scored but one.
Harold must have thought about that triple rush system. The veteran roamed away out of his terrotry. How many games will it take for Jette to bis his stride? Oswald wants to know. A Polo Fable. Once upon a time a certain team scored a goal on a drive from foul. (It wasn't in the I. S. L. however.) "Dashing Duggan" they 'call him. How nice. New Castle tonight and Saturday.

Halvoord Jacobson, repre&entative of the Scandinavian-American line and William Van Doom, manager of the Holland-American line, expected to receive cable instructions today from their governments. Neither of. these lines, it was said, has carried munitions of war or contraband since the early days of the war. Shipping men pointed Out that the most obvious effect of the German declaration would be the reduction in the tonnage which the freight ships of the European neutral lines could carry on account of the increased space which would have to be sacrificed to carry coal and provisions for one con-

No shipping of any kind was permitted to leave the port of New York last night. The harbor gates were closed by Dudley Field Malone, collector of the port, who has full authority to act upon his own initiative in . case of emergency. Mr. Malone did not disclose his ideas as to the nature of this emergency but after stationing two destroyers off Quarantine, where the harbor narrows like the neck of a bottle, the federal officials devoted most of their attention to the German merchant fleet which has been interned here since the beginning of the war. - t ...... r.iAiar:s it plaiij i The Pure Food and Drug Laws aim to protect the public by preventing mis-statements oa the labels of preparations but some people continue to accept "extracts' of cod livers thinking they will get the benefits of an emulsion of cod liver oil. The difference is very great. An "emulsion" contains real cod liver oil, which has bad the hearty endorse ment of the medical profession for many years, while an "extract" is a product which contains no oil and is highly alcoholic : Scott's Emulsion guarantees the high est grade of real Norwegian cod liver oil, skilfully blended with glycerine and bypophosphites.
