COUNTY BOARD FIGHTS STATE HIGHWAY BILL
Wayne county commissioners today sent letters to the house of representatives and senate condemning the amendment which has been added to the 6tate highway commission bill providing that the commission shall have absolute control of all county road business. They favor a commission with limited power, y When the bill was first presented, the commissioners requested local representatives and Senator McConaha to fight it because it gave too much power to the state engineer. The bill was amended to limit the power of the commission and leaving the county road system practically as it is. The commissioners favored the altered bill, this last amendment giving the state commission too much power was added. Oppose Impeachment Bill The commissioners also went on record as being opposed to Senate bill 41, known as the "Impeachment bill," now pending in the general assembly. The commissioners consider that this bill is so extremely radical that every county and city officials could be kept in a continuous series of trials for impeachment whenever any person who has a personal grievance
