Jan. 27-:JIuncie at Richmond. ' ,f ' It is improbable that Billy Duggan, the New Castle import from the East, will be able to Join the Doherty clan la time to participate in the IndianNew Castle Hare at New CasHe toBight. It la understood that Manager Jameson of the New Castle club, baa given the passports to the Easterner and that Duggart TviTl he here for th-i fame at New Castle Monday night if not sooner. Meanwhile Harrison Fry, the Quaker, will fill the rent in the New Castle fighting front. NEW CASTLE, 4J RICHMOND, 2 Freddie Harkens, sometimes labeled as the grand old man of tho state polo belt, displayed some " oTttie qualities nd requirements essential to that affix last night when the Richmond and Now Castle factions, battling for the lead of the' stnte circle, dropped back and let little Fred and his big club decide the If sue. Harken's three goals represented the straw that broke tho Quaker's resolve lo win. ; , New Castle, under a new management, displayed all the old scrapping tendencies and the , Quakers, saved from a more decisive beating by the reverse luck of the visitors, were in the runner-up position long before Timer pyer had adusted his palm to the guy wire pf knell. New Castlo was a winner from the start. Individually, Harkens and Harrison Kry. thp Quaker, "ere the speed part pf the New Castle attack. Hueft'ner was the proverbial wall of masonry. Together the three comprised a conKlomeratlon of ofTensc and defense that vm not to be denied in the flnal recording. Hueffner's forty-four tops listed with two goals made by Richmond bespeaks of much unnecessary work on part of the Quaker bombarders. New Castle Jumps .to Lead .. New Castie 'was in front from the first. IJarkens placed his team in the van early in .the first stanza.and the rest ct the club -saw" to' it that Freddus' efforts were not to be in vain The comoination of Fry and Harkens stood for a 2 0. New Castle, score at the finish of the start. Both teams sewed up a couple in the second part. O. Quigley and Griffith stirred up Quaker noise while Fry and Harkens saw to it that New Cattle's lead of two was not stunted. A rain in the last number, New Ostle contributed most of the acJlcn. For a time it looked like, a blank 6eance when both teams settled down to nothing more than sponrtic. action However, after seven minutes of play, Freddie Harkens, the Quaker nemises. took a more or less lucky swing at the Quaker pen and Jimmy. O'JIetr was obliged to vacate. New . Castle's performance was evtrytting predicted once a real live wire wrapped itself around the club management. Jaul Jameson, the new mtnaser, has instilled life into that team and huge things may be expected from now on. The score-keeper's version of it: New Castle (4) ' Richmond (2) Fry L.
