Ted Lewis' Indian tribe of club swingers, supplemented by a real goal tender said to be either Bert Mallory or Pop Bannon. old timers Is billed to meet the Muncie team In the Campbell rink at Muncie tonight. The game, with little or no bearing on the league leadership will be Interesting to local fans in that it will show to just what extent the Indianapolis drive launched at New Castle a few nigh' a ago, is to progress. With Arlle May on the absent list Indianapolis may. be counted on to furnish the Muncie fans all that is asked for in the way of opposition. Tomorrow, Saturday night, Indianapolis comes to the Richmond Coliseum. The events at Muncie tonight therefore will be watched by the Quaker fan colony. MUNCIE. 3; NEWCASTLE, 2 The New Castle polo team, contestant for the I. S. L. lead, suffered another setback at New Castle last night, , when the Muncie five, putting up a Ftellar brand of work, finished first after three torridly contested periods in which either team might have been considered a winner or a loser until the final gong. A neat hook by Harkens followed up by an accidental goal donated by Muncie half-back Huston gave New Castle two goals as an evening's ptarter. and, with this lead, rested New Castle's hopes for. the game. Williams meanwhile scored one for Muncie and the score at the close of the first period read 2-1, New Castle. Neither Side Gets Score Tight defensive play featured the second round and neither team was able to roll up a tally. New Castle threatened the Muncie pen more than once in this period but the near sensational work of Pence warded off vhe Muncie downfall. Hueffner and Doherty managed to break up the drives of Fahrner and Williams. Two Muncie goals in the third frame decided it. It was almost ten minutes before Fahrner scored the goal that tied the score. A scant two minutes later Fahrner shot the sphere to Willlams in waiting and the resulting swipe caught Hueffner off his guard That ended the scoring. Scores Are Questionable. Both sides scored questionable goals. Huston's .pift to New Castle In the first periOwas offset by the more or less questionable goal of Williams in the same round. In the melee which followed a wild scramble in front of the New Castle.. pen Williams, it is charge, kicked the ball into the drap eries. Referee Thompson, however, did not see it that way and the goal was allowed to stand. New Castle's defeat served to make things all the more comfortable for the Richmond five in first place. By losing this one New Castle passes up Its chance to get back at the Quakers ' when the two teams meet on the New Castle floor Monday night. Thanks Muncie. Anxious wants to know what's become of this Da Fresnes person he used to pear so much about The Duke is still with New Castle, Horatio, but he hasn't started any thing of late. Huston and De Witt threaten to take away from Du Fresnes the title of the league's bad boy. Du Fresnes has even quit making fouls. There is little likelihood that either Bannon or Mallory will' be in front of the Indian cage tonight or tomorrow night. While awaiting the arrival of the Easterner, Pence, O'Metz and Hueffner will take turns in guarding the Indianapolis pen. According to this program Hueffner will serve at Muncie tonight and Freddie Pence will be here with the Indians Saturday night Bert Mallory, the old Anderson warden, is well remembered here. The men who wrote this play were absolutely familiar with every little detail of the everyday life and habits of the people they dramatized. Miss Young bas one of the very best acting parts of her long career, and the supporting cast have all been selected after long consideration of their fitness to properly present the character intrusted to them.
