PLEAD FOR .FOOD; MEN IN TRENCHES WRITE TO CANADA
In a letter received by Stephen Kuth, a fanner living east of Rich mond, from his daughter-in-law, Mr a. Wilbur Kuth, Sooth Lethbridge, Alberta, Canada, the states that many residents of that part of the Dominion are leaving for the United States in fear that the. government la soon to resort to conscription for military service. She intimates that she Is writing instead of her husband because he has no desire to discuss the situation in Canada in a letter. The letter states that numerous . Canadian soldiers are writing from the trenches demanding food and clothing. She says graft has full sway in the Dominion and that many people have become millionaires through questionable war material contracts. Mrs. Kuth Is an Englishwoman. Her husband etm retains his American citizenship and Is engaged In the automobile business. "I would like to see the capitalists if n tha countries at war have to
man the guns to see how long the war
would last," the letter conciuaes.
DUST OFF SLOGAN TO ROUSE SPIRITS;
NEW CASTLE NEXT
Richmond's time-worn and moth-
eaten slogan "On to New casue" nas hn trnttAd out. dusted off. retiated
and "will be used extensively from now on until Saturday night, when the Richmond high school's basketball faction migrates to New Castle for the basketball program in the new
Jenning s auditorium. A special interurban probably will be chartered. New Castle's chance to set-back the Quakers In this game is regarded here as a minus quantity. Richmond tnnir thfl inater off New Castle here
earlier in the season and Is confident
in Its ability to repeat. However, at New Castle, hope, that stuff which according to an ancient scribe, never dies, has not been entirely pulverized and the New Castle team still reels like trvine to come-back.
The R. H. S. team, in the best of
condition after the Rusbville party, will go through a stiff course of basketball before boarding the cushions for the Henry county capital. The team will workout on the Coliseum floor this and Wednesday afternoon, after which it will rest up for the coming Boclal.

EARLIIAM HITS PACE
Satisfied that the team has hit its nitride Coach Whiteside, of the Earlham basketball squad, rests heavy hopes on his team's chances with Butler at Indianapolis Tuesday night. The Quakers, as demonstrated in Friday night's game with State Normal, have the ability. Whether or not Butler will stack up against this ability Tuesday night remains problematical. Saturday night the Quakers journey to Cincinnati where the St. Xaviers tosscrs will be given the opening to win or lose a game. PALLADIUM WANT AD8 PAY

This Car is Worthy of Your Confidence
You can buy a Saxon car secure in the knowledge that you are getting full value in. tried and proven motor car mechanism. Saxon cars are built to win the confidence of their owner and they do. But first they must win the confidence of their builders and this they could not if they embodied any feature or any part of unproven worth. So no Saxon principle of construction has ever been changed until a better principle has fully proved its greater value. And so no Saxon car has ever embodied features of doubtful worth. Saxon cars have simply been in a state of transition, passing thru phase after phase of graduallmprorement without -a -break in production. They are refined from time to time, not radically changed.. vThey are in the fullest sense of the phrase, products of evolution. ' They are developed rather than built. Isn't that the kind of a car you want one that you can feel confident is right before you put down your good money for it? If it is, then you want a Saxon. As local representative of the Saxon Company, the Quaker City Garage stands ready to give the kind of service that will make your satisfaction a certainty. SAXON MOTOR CAR CORPORATION DETROIT
