INDIANAPOLIS, Jan. , 9. Lieuten-nnt-governor Bush announced the Senate committee this morning calling attention to the fact that the Deraacratfc members of each committee were named by the Democrats them-t-olves, under the agreement reached by the conference committee of the two parties last week. The chairmen of the more Important committees are: Public Morals, White; finance. McConaha: Judiciary, A. Gemmill; constitutional revision, English; railroads, White; education, McConaha; eorporctions, Metzger; elections, Spann; loads, Dobyns; agricultural, Signs; labor. Green: swamp lands and drains Smith; public health, Beardsley. Walter McConaha, Richmond, Is on the following committees: Finance, legislature, apportionment, judiciary, corporations, benevolent institutions, manufacture and the Joint rules committees. WORKS FOR CONSTITUTION County Superintendent Williams was In Indianapolis today and yesterday filling his position as a member of the legislative committee of the State Superintendents' association. His committee is heartily in favor of a new constitution and is working toward that end. '
BANK FILES DEMURRER
A demurrer to the amended complaint in the suit of the Centerville State bank against Frances Wolfe on a promissory note, demand $1,800, was filed in circuit court today. CLARK DIVORCE FILED Mary Jane Clark filed suit in circuit court today for a divorre from Ashford Clark. She asks $300 a year for the carp of their twot children. 'John W. Clark,12. ' and Theodore Clark, 9.
SEPARATION IS ASKED
Emma Milton, Whitewater, filed suit in circuit today for a divorce from Charles Milton, Whitewater. They were married in 1897.
PARTY IS POSTPONED BECAUSE OF DEATH
On account of the death of E. R. Helman of the Commercial department of the high school, the Federation party planned for Thursday, Jan. 11, has been postponed indefinitely.

ECONOMY, Ind., Jan. 9. Mis3 Blanche Fenimore, the art and domestic science teacher has organized a basket weaving crew with a twentyfive membership. Some beautiful specimens fo the Indian baskets will be duplicated while original designs will be attempted.
MERCHANT FOUND NOT GUILTY
Pleasant Davis, a well-to-do Hasremtown merchant, was found not guilty in squire's court at Hagerstown yesterday of a charge of public intoxication, preferred by the town marshal. Davis was prosecuted by Deputy Prosecutor Walter Lewis. He said he did not walk steady after alighting from a New Castle train becanse an injured foot was hurting him.
The construction of a pipeline 200 miles long has enabled oil to replace wood for fuel for navigation and other l-urpoees in the Interior of Congo.

ELECT NEW TRUSTEES OF FRIENDLESS HOME
Rev. F. W. Rohlfing of St Paul's Lutheran church, Rev. J. S. Hill, of the Reld Memorial church, and Clem Gaar were elected trustees of the Home of the Friendless at the annual meeting yesterday. J Henry Siekman and A. M. Gardner were re-elected trustees. The new members of the board succeed Rev. Conrad Huber. the late Rev. S. R. Lyons and Dr. I. S. Harold. The annual report of the institution has. been delayed because the illness of Mrs. A. A. Mumbower, treasurer of the board of lady managers,-prevented her from compiling her report. There were no births or deaths in the home proper during 1916.

BERLIN,. via London, Jan. 9. The Boersen Zeitung, Berlin's leading financial organ, seizes upon the dinner given to Ambassador Gerard by the American chamber of commerce as an opportunity to discuss peace again. It declares that the banquet had unusual Importance and expresses almost enthusiasm at the cordial relations existing between the United States and Germany as it finds them In the expression of the speakers. The Saturday evening papers declare that Germany will welcome every support America may, lend to the peace movement, "so lone as it does not

BEGIN REVIVAL CAMPAIGN
ELDORADO, O., Jan. 9. A two weeks revival campaign with the Rev. Sara L. Stoner and Dr. Roland of New Madison speaking has been launched at the TJniversalist church. Next week, the Rev. F. B. Music for the entire evangelistic scries will be under the direction of Albert Llndsley.
HORSE RUNS AWAY
- ELDORADO, O., Jan. 9 Mrs. Ruby and Miss Susie Guenther and Miss Junie Baker narrowly escaped serious Injuries here Saturday when the horse which they were driving became frightened at a train, ran away and upset the buggy. They were just leaving this place for their homes in West Manchester.

THREE PERSONS FINED FOR HUNTER'S DISPUTE OVER DEAD TURKEYS Ben Reddinghaus, Frank Sittloh and Howard Mull were fined In city court today as a result of h. row which they engaged in with William Doran on hi3 farm, three miles east of Elkhorn Mills, some time after midnight It was charged that dogs the young men owned had killed some turkeys. Mrs. Doran telephoned to Sheriff Carr for
help and when he was about to leave
she again telephoned begging him not
to come.
She said that the men had threaten
ed to kill her husband if the sheriff came. Carr responded to the call and arrested the men while they were driving on the Boston pike. Mull pleaded guilty and received a fine of $1 and costs. Sittloh and Reddinghaus each were fined $5 and costs. The latter will be arraigned on a suspended charge for the same offense when his term expires. NEW LICENSE LAW EXEMPTS SCIENTISTS
WASHINGTON, Jan. 9. Without deciding constitutional questions the supreme court today affirmed refusal of the California Federal court to enjoin enforcement of California's medical practice law requiring licensing Christian Scientists. The ruling leaves it in full force and operation.
COURT REACHES DECISION
WASHINGTON. Jan. 9. In a new phase of the old "Danbury-Hatters" case, the supreme court today decided that D. E. Loewe, Danbury manufacturer and not the United Hatters Union is entitled to. $20,000 in interest accrued on Union ' Hatters Savings banks in 1903. - -
ORDERS NEW BRIDGE
WASHINGTON, Jan. 9. War department orders requiring reconstruction of the Louisville & Nashville railroad, Ohio Falls, bridge over the Ohio river at an additional cost of $400,000 to improve navigation were upheld today by the supreme court as within the Federal authority. -
HOLDS GAS RATE DOWN
WASHINGTON. Jan. 9 An injunction of the supreme court retraining the Neward, O., Gas company-from charging more than 18 cents a thousand feet, the rate fixed in a city ordinance of March 6, 1911, was affirmed today by the supreme court.
