The season of economical buying is at hand. The holidays are over and we are getting settled down for the new year. The very best New Year's Resolution you can make is to , ' , - A-tP A-i. ' Buy Everything You Can at Home Such a resolution would not only benefit those from whom you make your purchase, but it would help the community and whatever helps the community must eventually be of help to you. Perhaps the wife or daughter need new gowns, new coats, new shoes or other necessities. Even father, himself, needs a new suit or overcoat or a pair of shoes. The home itself has many needs. Perhaps the floor coverings are worn out or maybe new bedding is required. It may have seen long service and new material is needed to provide sufficient warmth for comfort during the winter nights. New furniture may be needed to tone up the household a bit. Perhaps the stove does not operate ' satisfactorily for the lady (and only she knows what a good stove means). In any event there are many purchases to be made in one direction or another and more money is spent at this season than during any other time of the. year. Perhaps you have been contemplating a day's shopping trip to oneof the nearby large cities. Maybe you believe such a trip would prove profitable to you and would save you money in addition to paying your car fare. Don't You Believe It!! Or, perhaps you are a patron of the mail-order house, and lured on by the tempting catalogues, you are willing to order and give payment in advance for goods you never have seen. You learn too late that you could have purchased more satisfactory merchandise right here in Richmond, secured legitimate credit had you so desired, and Saved Money Besides!
Don't Deceive Yourself At least don't buy away from .home until you have given the home stores a chance. See what the big up-to-date home stores have to offer in what you need and compare their prices with what goods purchased" elsewhere will cost you when you include railroad fares, freight, expressage or parcel post charges. . : ; . , , If you will always make it a practice to patronize the home stores, you probably will be surprised to learn of the really extensive stocks carried by the various merchants. You will come to realize that in most lines at least, the larger city stocks surpass the home stores in quantity only and not in variety or quality. Richmond Stores Are Enterprising They keep in close touch with the world's leading markets. They buy the newest things and best values. They know what is the latest and best and They Get It Here for You! And merchandise sold in our local stores comes from identically the same sources as that offered in any store in the larger cities. Give your Richmond merchants the first chance to supply your wants and you can buy anything here that you can buy elsewhere, and at a profit to' yourself and the community in the long run. Fair and honest comparisons will prove to you that it is to your own interests to buy at home.
