Rustlings of the Netting
, Congratulations, Muncie.
Apparently, it's up to the Quakers tonight A defeat tonight and the Quakers will still have a substantial lead on the first place of the second division. New Castle will send a small dele-; gation of fans to Richmond tonight No doubt they will root for Richmond. No? Pass the palm leaf to Du Fresnes, Rover; that boy, despite his carnivorous nature, is one sweet polo player. Without DU Fresnes at Muncie last night, New Castle would have beeri like the proverbial collar without the neck piece. Freddie fence admits he doesn'E like the wild swings of this DuFresnes fellow. "Some day that kid will wake up . id a court room in time to hear sentence passed ' for manslaughter," asserted Pence, who is more or less an exponent of the "Safety-First" slogan. Meanwhile Du Fresnes waxes more end more popular at New Castle. It is understood his name had been hooked up with the list of possible successors to Mayor Watkins.

Huston and Edglngton, of the Muncie team, have exchanged positions. Huston at center, works better, it is claimed. . Muncie played a hard, rough game last night. Rumors of a shake-up seemed to affect the team. While helping their team mates rpeed up last night Huston and Edglngton invoked the wrath of Referee Thompson. Du Fresnes played a Clean game last night. It is understood the league directors had a little session with the hard guy and he has promised to eliminate some of the rough stuff. . Bring on Muncie. DISCUSS TONE OF ALLIED REPLY TO PEACE NOTE
PETROGRAD. Dec. 23. Via London, Dec. 27. Delayed. Discussing the forthcoming reply to the peace proposals the Rech says; ; "the official reply cannot state that the entente allies aim to bring the Turkish empire to an end in order to remove forever German aims of .world dominion, or that the allies will demand reorganization of Austria-Hungary in order to make impossible the fulfillment of German ideas regarding central Europe which form the first step of their program for world power. Diplomacy cannot suggest these terms until the allies have laid the firm foundation for success of their present military tasks. But by saying less diplomacy would acknowledge a result of the war Unsuccessful for the allies. "Italy has not occupied Triest, France has not created a firm frontier along the Rhine. England has not destroyed the German fleet, nor have the allies as a Whole succeeded in crippling the German land forces and therefore there are no guarantees for the future in national relations which wfll free the world from the oppression of militarism." The Rech says that even if Germany should make the unexpected concession of relinquishing territorial gain and restoring ante-bellum conditions the aims of the allies would not be fulfilled and that the only terms acceptable to Russia would be those dictated by herself and her allies.
