met This Week Tonight Richmond at Muncie. Saturday New Castle at Richmond. New Castle, 4; Richmond, 2 "Richmond's Finish" or "Quaker Revenge That Wasn't," a super polo film in three parts, featuring one Freddie Long in the Francis X. Bushman role, and presented by the representative talent of the Henry and Wayne county polo casts In the New Castle ampitheatre last night, scored about as heavily with some 1,000 New Castle fani as it proved disappointing to the seven Richmond citizens who paid real

dubloons to witness the farce. Because, the Richmond cast, minus the presence of one Walt Evans, the J. Warren Kerrigan, as it were, was in no position to put over a clever performance. ' With Evans out of the personnel, the Quaker cast was about as Incomplete as "Uncle Tom's Cabin" would be without one little Eva. Harrison Fry, who substituted for Evans, was not so familiar with the regular lines, and, missing his cue at different times, balled up the Quaker show. The synopsis: Part One The opening scene depicts the New Castle teams and Richmond teams in a regular family row. Both fides are In a huffy mood and in no humor to hand the 6ther anything. Seconds rolled into minutes a habit they have regularly, by the way and minutes rolled into more minutes. Fourteen minutes and three seconds, to be exict, were ticked off the timer's carrot before Francis X. Bushman, alias Long, launched the grand finale of the flrst part In the shape of a neat hook Into the Richmond box. A second, or rather twenty-two of em, later. Lou Quigley startled the house Rnd brought . applause. from fry en Richmond fans. His goal came with the timer primed, to Jerk the rhlmes signalling for curtain. Part II follows immediately. - ; ' ' v - ' .

Part Two. An Individual skit of William Fahrnum Harkens fpatures in this setting. With the five Richmond and four New Cnstle players, not to forget the referee, banked as the stage scenario, little Freddie,- alone and unmolested pkated down the middle of the stage, and, pausing Just long enough for theatrical effect, shoved the pellet into the Richmond den. (More than scattered applause here). Part III follows Immediately. Part Three! There was an ocean of action spilled In this round. Freddie Bushman Long, who by the way, figured in all the heavy acting, appropriated all the spot light during the first section of the finale and for a time it looked like

Rustlings of the Netting

Walt Evans, Richmond center, is out of the game with a bad cold. It is unlikely that he will get into the game at Muncie tonight. The services of Evans were certainly missed last night. Harrison Fry, in the -center position, was more or less lost. Fry's regular position is at rush and it. will take some time for him to become adapted to defensive play. . . A set-back at Muncie tonight will see a new leader in the I. S. L. ranks. But the Quakers by winning from New Castle on the Coliseum floor Saturday night will be back home again. This Freddie Long is waxing into one of the speediest offensives in the

league. Lou Quigley was obl.'ged to follow Long on the rush line last night. Long took seven of the nine. The names of Soxy Lyons, Jimmy Taylor and Fred Sutherland are mentioned by the Indianapolis management, which is determined to strengthen the Indian team. Lyons and Sutherland especially are well known here. They, are stars of the old Western League. . . ; If Lyons, a half back, Is secured, May will be hooked In favor of Doc Harold, who will try the pen position. Sutherland is a goal tend with a reputation extending over many states. At that, Indianapolis can stand it.

Freddus would Just about chase the Richmond characters off the boards, he Rose City star, who, it is to be remembered, couldn't make good with the Indianapolis filmy corporation, fairly dragged away all of the laurel stuff. He also dragged Jimmy O'Metz out of the Quaker goal for two scores. With the game hopelessly shot, Richmond tried the prodigal. But they couldn't come back. The farce closes with the Richmond five ejected into the snow and gloom of old Broad street. New Castle. More details: - New Castle (41. Richmond

SEVEN COUPLES HOLD GOLDEN MARRIAGES; BELONG TOW, R, G.

Seven golden weddings in 1916 is being set up as a record by Sol Meredith post G. A. R. and the Woman's Relief Corps of this city. . As far as can be ascertained this is a record that cannot be equaled by any organization in the United States. All seven couples are active in the affairs of the local post of the Grand Army and its auxiliary. The same romantic story will 4 describe almost any one of the seven courtships of fifty years ago. When the war came, the young men offered their services to the nation, all having enlisted in companies organized in Richmond. It is likely that som kind of a fitting celebration will be given at the post room In the near future for the seven couples. The following celebrated their golden wedding anniversaries in the order named: Mr. and Mrs. Thaddeus C. Personnette, 1120 Boyer street, W. R.; Mr. and Mrs. Argua C. Obgorn, 724 North Tenth street; Mr. and Mrs. Jasper Roberts, 119 Randolph street, W. R.; .Mr. and Mrs. George Irwin, 411 North Seventeenth street; Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Rowlett, 126. South Twelfth; Mr. and Mrs. John Elliott, 313 Richmond avenue; Mr. and Mrs. Charles Castor, who are temporarily located at Mulberry, 0.
