4ANER WILL GASE BROUGHT TO CLOSE WITH COMPROMISE
Tho hard fought Mcrris-Haner will oae closed late yesterday In circuit court v.ith a compromise for $300 to Walter Morris, the plaintiff, who relinquished his claims on the Frank Morris estate two years ago in a Winchester court, then renewed the fight . here. . .,. , ... : . ( It is said counsel for Morris feared the Jury would construe new evidence to mean that Morris knew he was tho f on of Frank Morris and not John Morris. Isabelle Haner is now the sole beneficiary of the will of Frank Morris. The suit which was being tried in Wayne circuit court was brought to break the will of Frank Morris, which disposed of an estate of between $30,000 and $40,000 to a sister, Isabelle IJancr.
With the knowledge of Special j Tudso Cause, attorneys compromised j the suit for $250 and $50 additional to I
cover court costs of the trial, which will amount to at least $85 for the litigants. The trial which has been in progress over a week cost the county about $175. Walter Morris was seeking to prove that he is the illegitimate son of Frank Morris and that the former transfer man was insane at the time he made his will. Two years ago, Morris complicated his claim to the
estate by signing away his rights in saying he was the son of John Morris, who at that time was seeking to break the will. ' To guarantee court costs, Walter Morris and his attorneys had put up $300 bond at the opening of the suit. With this suit out of the way, Mrs. Haner has practically a clear claim to the estate.
