GERMANT0V7N LOOKS FORWARD TO XMAS EVE ENTERTAINMENT

, EAST GKRMANTOWN, Ind., Dec. SO. East Gennantown is looking forward to what It Is believed will be the most beautiful Christmas service In its history. This will be the rendition of the Christmas cantata, "Peace and Good Will" (by Ira B. Wilson) by the . choir of Zlon's Lutheran church. '. The success of the affair is assured in that M. W. Gaar, who needs no Introduction to the musical public, Is the efficient director. Mrs. Gipe, organist, will be assisted by Miss Ada Bertsch at the piano and by Mr. and Mrs. Will Murray with the cornet and violin. The service will be on Christmas Eve, Sunday, the 24th. From the attention this undertaking is receiving throughout the community, it is believed that a large audience will be in attendance.

ORDERED TO REPORT ON MILITARY AFFAIRS

EL PASO, Texas, Deo. 20. Col. George V. H. Mosley, chief of staff lo Major General Charles M. Clement, Df the seventh provisional division, has been ordered to report before the penate committee on military affairs In Washington on Friday. Col. Mosley today wired Senator Chamberlain Df Oregon, chairman of the committee, requesting more time to arrange his fcffalrs with the seventh division, the headquarters of which has been orderfed to Pennsylvania to be mustered out.

AVIATOR BOMBED EMPEROR'S QUARTERS

PARIS, Dec. 20. Captain DeBeaurhamp, the aviator who bombed Essen and Munich, and whose death has just peen announced, on one occasion ? ropped bombs on the headquarters of he German emperor, according to the 'etit Journal. This last exploit was performed In April, 1915, when the rmperor was stationed at Mezieres-CharlevlHe.

RAIDER FOLLOWS LINER

NEW YORK, Dec. 20. An unidentified ship having one funnel and two masts, in general answering the description of the German raider of which entente vessels have been warned by wireless during the past ten days, followed the White Star liner Adriatic last Friday morning, according to passengers when she arrived here today from Liverpool.

CHURCH HOLDS CHRISTMAS ' a TREE CELEBRATION

ECONOMY, Ind., Dec. 20. A large Christmas tree celebration was held at the M. E. church Saturday night Albert Atkinson impersonated Santa Claus and gave all present a treat from the tree. EMPEROR CHARLES REVIEWS THE ARMY

LONDON, Dec. 20 Emperor Charles of Austria has reviewed the Austrian armies on the Trieste front, according to a Reuters dispatch from Amsterdam quoting a Vienna telegram. The emperor, accompanied by General Borovlch, commander of the Austrian forces on the Isoneo front visited the tips of the line on that river and later went to Trieste where he is reported to have received an enthusiastic reception. The notables were presented to the monarch in the government building and he addresed former Burgomaster Sanaringlli In Italian. Afterward he visited the troops on the Carao Plateau.

THADDEUS THOMSON CLOSES UP WORK

WASHINGTON, Dec. 20. Thaddeus A. Thomson, retiring American minister to Colombia, today closed up his business with the state department and left for his home In Texas. Officials pointed out that since Mr. Thomson's resignation was offered several months ago on account of his wife's precarious health, the resignation was not in the category of cases wherein many diplomats have tendered theirs as an incident of the termination of the first term of President Wilson's administration in order to leave him free to make any changes deemed necessary.

GIVES XMAS PAGEANT

MILTON. Ind., Dec. 20. The Christian church Sunday school will give "White Gifts For the King," a Christ mas pageant, at the Sunday school, Sunday morning. The Rev. F. C. Mccormick will follow with a Christmas sermon, at the morning hour for worship. In the evening he will give the New Year's sermon. Everybody is invited to attend these services.

BUILD NEW SCHOOL; ' NO HEATING PLANT DUE TO INJUNCTION

EATON, O., Dec. 20. Court action, around which centers considerable interest, was concluded Tuesday when Judge E. P. Middleton, of Troy, granted a permanent injunction preventing the board of education of the Camden school district issuing bonds in the sum of $6,000. The suit was filed, by R. C. Prugh and others. 4 f The board has a $60,000 centralized building under construction and sought to bond the district for $6,000 more in order to procure funds with which to install a heating plant. EATON, O., Dec. 20. Harry D. Collins, well known New Paris man, has been recommended by Congressman Warren Gard for appointment to the office of postmaster at that village. Since Marshall's death the business of the office has been transacted by his niece, Miss Faye Marshall, who formerly served as deputy. .
