Under the auspices of the Domestic 8elenea association and directed by the Ways and Means committee of which Mra. H. H. Huntington. Is chair, man with the following members, Mrs. E. Leeds and Mrs. Julian Cates, an elaborate charity ball for the benefit of the Day Nursery will be given Frlday evening, December 29, at the Coll' seum. Eliason, Miss Josephine Wilson, Mrs. Erie Reynolds, Miss Nellie Morrow and Miss Bertha Larsh. The committee will serve punch and wafers for a nominal fee. The decorating committee has for, its chair, man, Miss Margaret Starr. She has asked Mrs. Ray K. 8hlveley, Mrs. Wilbur Hlbberd, Miss Laura Johnson and Mrs. Richard Study to assist her In decorating the Coliseum on this eventful occasion. The Eecker-Bott orchestra of Dayton, Ohio, will furnish the music. The Grand march will be led by Mr. and Mrs. Bert Kolp and will , begin at 8 o'clock. ' ' . Members of the association and theirasslstants have been making a canvass of the city selling tickets at one dollar a couple or fifty cents for single tickets. Those in charge will continue the sale-until the day before the party. Those who are selling tickets are Mrs. Albert D. Gayle, Miss Eleanor Seidel, Mrs. Milton Craighead Mr?. Visitors and buyers at the studio of Mrs. Maud Kaufman-Eggemeyer, South Eighteenth street, were numerous yesterday when an Arts and Crafts exhibit was held. Articles amounting to more than one hundred dollars were sold. Enamel and hand painted chinaware attracted quite a little attention. The articles were placed on one long table and many of these were sold making beautiful Christmas gifts. A collection of jewelry, fancy work, pot

tery and leather goods was well worth attention. Miss Ella Newman contributed quite a little hand made jewelry. Shejiad a number of scarf pins, ring and lavalliers. Some suede bags are also in her collection. Beautiful hand bags In the latest style in black and gray velvet handsomely beaded were In the collection and are the work of Mrs. Lawrence Deuker of Chicago, a 6ister of Mrs. Eggemeyer. Several local artists Including Charles Clawson, J. E. Bundy and Mr. Nordyke displayed pictures. Some pottery made by Miss Elmira Kempton is pretty and met with ready sale. Various kinds of Japanese ware and pieces of enameled work were displayed by Miss Grace Smith. Miss Mary Canby had a number of dolls preftily decorated on display. Leather novelties by Miss Maud Barger and several exquisite water colors by Miss Anna Newman, complete the exhibit. The affair came to a close this evening Woman's Loyal Moose Circle will meet Wednesday evening at 7:30 o'clock in the Moose hall. The meet ing was called by the Supreme officers. After the business there will be an exchange of Christmas gifts. There will also be a box social. . .
