TELEPHONE OPERATORS HOLD CONVENTION FOR
THREE OHIO COUNTIES EATON, 0., Dec. 14. For the purpose of discussing topics calculated to advance efficiency and services, fiftytwo telephone operators, representing the ten companies comprising the TrlCounty. Telephone association, held an Tl-day meeting here Wednesday. Preble, Montgomery and Miami counties are Included lu the district. - The meeting was held in the Commercial club rooms. A welcome address was made by Judge Elam Fisher. The operators discussed many topics, of Interest, then adjourned and enjoyed an elaborate dinner at the Acton restaurant. ' The afternoon session was opened by Miss Erma Ralkes. 'ashler of the Eaton Telephone company, .who read a paper, "The Responsibility of Our Positions." "The Operatori Responsibility for Toll Service" was the title of a paper read by Miss Nellie Fisher, of this city. S. A. Blessing, of West Milton, read a paper, "The Lineman's Responsibility for Toll Service," and -Ererett Wysong ' discussed "Toll Line Inspection and Repair." Hattie Deem of Eldorado, presented a paper on "How We May Facilitate the Free Service Between Exchanges." The operators visited the exchange of the local company and the establishment of The Eaton Herald.

REVISE INSTITUTE LAW
INDIANAPOLIS. Dec. 14. For the purpose of drafting a revision of the Saturday institute law, Charles A. Greathouse, state superintendent of public instruction : has appointed the following committee: J. O. Colllcott, Indianapolis; J. N. Study. Fort Wayne, and. William Lowe Bryan, president of the Indiana university. The present Institute law makes it mandatory on the teachers to attend the institutes.
Objections to it have been received from all parts of the etate.
