FARMERS DISCUSS PROBLEMS OF FARM AT ALEXANDRIA
i EATON, O., Dec. 14. Farmers in restern Preble county will; hold a meeting at West Alexandria Friday and Saturday. A. J. Hummon, Austin Herrick. and Mr. Ida Durbln are lecturers assigned by the state to present and discuss topics of prime interest to farmers. The program follows: Friday Morning "Drainage an Essential to Better Farming," A. J. Hum mon; "Hog Cholera," Dr. R. C. Schafer, West Alexandria; "My Success and Failure with Poultry," Mrs. Ida Durbln. , Afternoon "How and When to Feed Hogs at a Profit." J. A. Hummon; "Mother and the Girls," Mrs. Ida Durbln. - .. Evening "What We Owe Our Community."
Saturday Morning "Uses of Cement on a Farm," J. A. Hummon; "Profitable Dairying by the Common Fanner," Austin Herrick. Afternoon "Water in the Home, Why Notr J. A. Hummon; "The Story of a Ninety-Acre Wornout Farm," Austin Herrick. A play will be presented by home talent during the evening session.
SERVE XMAS DINNER AT FRIENDLESS HOME
Christmas celebrations will be held this year at the jail, the poor farm and the Home of the Friendless. Large Christmas dinners will be served at all three institutions. Some kind of a special program is being planned for the poor farm. In keeping with the annual custom, there will be a Christmas tree at the Home of the Friendless. Gifts will be distributed to the women and there will be an exchange of minor tokens of friendship which the women have made.

NICHOLSON STANDS BY SALOON'S FOES
Timothy Nicholson, president of the Indiana Anti-Saloon League today said that he believed the League was on 'the right track in fighting the liquor evil. He said he believed that the Dry Federation recently formed at Indianapolis was on the right track, because the question at issue was a moral and not a political one. He said the League had done twice as much as any other organization in promoting the cause of prohibition. TAXES AMOUNT TO $1,605.
